at cont. not sure which rooms i need to ask for i want a great view of cinderallas castle? which rooms/floors are the best?

thanks a millions -- these boards are awesome and helping me plan our first family tirp to the world!!

I don't know anything about the AKL, but I can tell you that the only way you are getting a good view of Cinderella's Castle if you stay at the Contemporary is if you book a Tower Magic Kingdom view room (or one of the concierge floors, but then your view is not guaranteed). The wing and the other side of the tower face away from the MK so there is no chance of getting even a side glimpse of the MK. If you book that, the higher your room is, the better because it is easier to ignore the parking lot between you and the MK. Booking the concierge floor will guarantee that you are on a high floor, but you lose the guarantee on the MK view.

Not sure if you know this the Contemporary now sells their rooms in the Tower by category. Obviously the two categories are the Magic Kingdom view and a Bay Lake view, so there is no need to request a Magic Kingdom view room like in the past.

Assuming you have booked a Magic Kingdom view room, I personally don't see a difference on which floor your on to get a great view of the Magic Kingdom. My family and I have stayed as low as the 6th floor and as high as the 14th floor with a Magic Kingdom view and to us it did not look any different. Also there are no Magic Kingdom view rooms on the 5th floor because of the Monorail station, so that floor will only have Bay Lake View rooms.

As for the 12th and 14th floor Club Levels it's true that a Magic Kingdom view has to be a request so it's 50/50 weather you get one or not, however both floors are different. The 12th floor is just like all the other floors in the Tower, where as the 14th floor only has 16 rooms and only 5 standard rooms since the rest are suites. Getting a Magic Kingdom view on the 14th floor might be easier because 4 of the standard rooms are on the Magic Kingdom side and the 5th one is on the Bay Lake side. As for the suites they are sold with a Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake View, because it's say's the name of either one if you book a suite up there.
