I KNOW I've seen this information somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it now!
! BR in Kidani--what kind of coffee filters to buy? Is any coffee there when we arrive? How many dishwasher detergents are provided?
Thanks for your patience in answering what I'm sure is a repeat question!:)

You will probably get about two or three pouches of dishwasher detergent and a small bottle of liquid dishwashing detergent. You get a single use box of All or Tide laundry detergent in a one bedroom or larger. No fabric softener or softener sheets.

If you need extra toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, dish detergent, paper towels, just ask. If you need extra coffee (in filtered pouches), laundry detergent, towels, hand soap, shower gel, shampoo or conditioner, you will need to purchase those. They will be replenished every four days.

Now I'm confused. Is the coffee in filtered pouches, or is a standard 12-cup Mr. Coffee machine using basket filters?

The coffee you get is in a filtered pouch (round circles with coffee in the middle). You don't get any coffee filters. The coffee in the room makes about four to six cups per packet/pouch. It is not the Cuisinart coffee maker that the hotel rooms have.

I called member services and was assured they are not filter pods, but regular loose coffee with basket filters. Now I am stymied....:confused3

MS is wrong or there was a communication gap. The coffee is the kind that you often get in hotel rooms. They are pre-measured packets (NOT pods) made of 2 circular pieces of filter material with coffee sealed between, packaged in a foil bag. One packet will make a full 10 - 12 cup pot of coffee. You will get one package for sure, though we almost always seem to get 2 or 3. If you don't want to pay for more then you would be wise to pack some ground coffee with a few of the fluted, flat bottom, Mr. Coffee type filters.

Actually, the pods you get in the non-DVC hotel rooms are pretty much like the ones you get in the DVC villas. Only the size is different. The ones that go in the Cuisenart coffee brewer are single cup pods (not K-cups). The ones in the DVC villas are like the ones I get from Maxwell House (makes six cups at once). But the ones you get in DVC will not ever fit in the coffee maker in the hotel rooms. They are too big.

I can't live without my morning coffee. I always bring a bag of dunkin donuts coffee and regular size coffee filters. The coffee they leave you isn't very good anyway and those filter pods with the coffee in them usually is not strong enough for me I brew a whole pot.:coffee:

Although I keep a small pack of coffee filters in our Owners Locker and have brought a 1 Lb bag of coffee with us before I usually just buy a box of the Maxwell House coffee pre-loaded packets to bring with us. (The ones Deb & Bill mentioned - you can find them at Walmart.) They are just like giant tea bags but with coffee and they make 6 cups. No muss no fuss. No measuring. Just plop them in the basket - and much better than the pack of stuff they provide in the room.:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 And we use our bottle water too

I'm confused, so this question is probably going to be a redundant tack on...

Is there enough coffee given to make a proper full pot or two (10-12 cups)?

I'm staying in a BCV 1-bedroom the night before our wedding with cash, and my bridesmaids and I are going to be getting up at 4 a.m. for hair and makeup. We are going to need to be able to make mass amounts of coffee and I just wanted to know if I should bring my own or not.

You can turn on packet into a full pot, but it is going to be watered down. You don't get ten/twelve packets of sugar, creamer, etc with the coffee pouch. Bring your own, plus sugar, creamer, filters, whatever you need to go along with the coffee. You'll only have up to eight coffee mugs in the one bedroom kitchen, too.

Thank you for the list! I'll tack it on to our Garden Grocer order.
