When we were at MGM/DHS in April we noticed a construction area, near Streets of America on the way to LMA. Does anyone know what this is going to be?

This might be Toy Story Mania. But if it isn't, I have no clue on what it is.

No, Toy Story is on the other side of the park. Dang, I wish I took a picture. :headache: We left Muppets 3-D and headed towards LMA, past the meet and greet area. On the left hand side they had the green construction fence up and workers going in and out. I should have stopped someone.

That's the old Hunchback stage area. Hasn't been used for years.

Highly doubt they'd bring Hunchback back.

American Idol is going into the old SuperStar theater next to the Great Movie Ride I believe.

Sometime ago I had read they were going to have various street scenes --like they have that large photo type scene for San Francisco.
Seems like they were having one part as SF, another NYC, and then Chicago.
Maybe has something to do with that.
I will have to pay more attention to that area. We were there last Saturday but I don't recall noticing anything.

I'd like to know too. It's right next to that big plaza. I asked a CM when we were there in March & they didn't know a thing. Studios sure is getting some new stuff...American Idol, Toy Story Mania and then there's this "mystery attraction". Hmmmmm...

agnes!

I think it's a little bit late for an "American Idol" attraction at WDW. It also is not appropriate for a Disney Park. But "Idol" is completing it's 7th season. There's a real good chance the show won't go past 9 seasons, as the judges contracts (primarily Simon Cowell's) only go through the 9th season. I doubt Simon will return after that and the show will not last without him. By the time a Disney attraction opens, "Idol's" future may be limited.

It will be WWTBAMPI all over again.

They did the same thing with "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", instead of starting when the show was at its peak they started on the downslide. Looks like they'll be doing the same thing for "American Idol"! Disney has become like every other major enterprise, they have so much red tape to do anything approved it takes too long.

We walked back there today. There really is not much to see but a painted wood wall. I could see what appears to be large lights inside. That could be part of a stage, or just for workers who are there after daylight hours.
No crane. Can't tell much of anything.
Now we did notice some things direct across the walkway that we have not noticed (or at least recalled) before.
One was a door that may have been painted as such already. But it was so cute I snapped a photo of it.
It's just a standard do not enter door for CMs. The door would lead into the Muppets theatre building.
The sign reads, "This Door Is Alarmed" and Overly Concerned. (Something to that effect.)
And opposite of that was like a character water tower.
If anyone wishes to see photos of both, I can post them.

It's a theater, it's going to be used for Star Wars Weekend for all the Q&A with the celebs and the short movie about how they're making the animated series, they used to do this in the ABC theater (now being refurbished for American Idol) after SWW I'm not sure what they're going to use it for.

Yep, that's the area. I never saw Hunchback, so I didn't know what was there before. Thanks Padrepride!

I heard a while back that DHS was going to enclose the area to use as a storage area for the Osborne Light Show items

I took these pictures of the area 2 weeks ago...
I was wondering what it was going to be...
