Hello, everyone -- I am going to Disney with my then 8 year old daughter and then 5 year old son over their spring break (4/5 to 4/10/15). Do you know if the construction in Downtown Disney will be completed by then? I can't seem to get a straight answer and we're starting to make our dining reservations and don't know if we should plan to visit that area. Thank you all for sharing your expertise!!!

Since you are going during the week of Easter I would avoid it at all cost. It will be extremely crowded.

We just returned a couple of weeks ago...DTD is a complete mess, walls cording off most everything... It's like walking thru a tunnel...

No way would I drive and try to park there... Never, even before, but now more nuts than ever..

We stayed at POFQ and boated to DTD for a lunch at Raglan Road... That we did, wife did World if Disney and we got the hell out of there...

We had scheduled a few boat trips over to DTD to bust up our evenings but with the chaos and mess, we never went back ...

I drove past DTD last night when heading to the Lake BV Hilton, around 6:30

it took over 30 minutes to get thru 3 lights ... the traffic was near gridlock. TONS of people trying to cross the road for the parking way out behind HESS and further . . .

in general a MESS. If I'd been planning to go in to DTD I would have not even parked and just gone home. Leaving the Hilton I went out the other way to avoid the mess.

And the construction does NOT look like it will be done soon.

True, this WAS a Saturday night of a long weekend ....

This is rather disheartening as dd#2 and me are going in a couple of weeks, and are not going to the parks. We were hoping to meander around DTD one evening, and will be at the H of B on Saturday night. We will take a shuttle from the hotel though as I don't really want to deal with traffic.
Oh well, I will be in Florida, away from the cold NJ weather and work, so I'll be happy no matter what we do.

It's not impossible, and once you get out of the car it isn't bad. I am looking forward to a better parking situation though

At SSR now and DTD is fine. Crowded but fine. Yes they are working in areas but we really don't notice it and at night we love to walk over and listen to the outdoor entertainment. Also enjoy going over in the morning when it is not so busy. Not sure how parking is but once you are there it's a fun place to walk around.
