When my family & I were at WDW in August we noticed that around exit 64A off Interstate 4, there was major construction getting off that exit & getting on from there if we wanted to head West to Tampa (comming from WDW) the ramp entrance was closed. Anyway I was wondering how is the construction doing, so if anyone can please give me an update I would appreciate it.

You're referring to the major rebuilding of the I-4/US192 interchange. You should have seen detour signs taking you to alternate routes for getting onto I-4. Construction continues as the old ramps are torn down and new flyover ramps are constructed.

You can read all about it as well as the current status at: http://www.trans4mation.org/

My family & I have decided that the day we check out of WDW & drive to Tampa, so we can then get to Clearwater Beach, we would drive threw Downtown Disney & then go towards I4 Westbound from there. Is that the best way to (we will be leaving from the Contemporary), or isn't there another entrance to I4 Westbound around Downtown Disney? I have a feeling there is, so that we would not have to drive all around West Side, Pleasure Island & Marketplace, then turning onto Lake Buena Vista to hit I4 Westbound.

Anyone know the area I am referring to?

You have exit 68 (SR 535) which takes you into Disney property by the Goodings plaza ( Hotel/Plaza Blve - Buena Vista Dr) and exit 67 (SR 536) (Epcot Center Dr)

So you have 2 choices from Downtown Disney. Exit the marketplace with a left onto Buena Vista Dr and take it to SR536, turn right onto SR536 and enter I4 or exit the marketplace with a right onto Buena Vista Dr and take it to Epcot Center Dr and take Epcot Center Dr to I4

Yeah, either way. It all depends on traffic lights. They're both basically just as quick.

This is assuming you WANT to go to Downtown Disney first. If you're headed from the Contemporary Resort direct to Tampa then you would not go by Downtown Disney at all. You'd stay southbound on World Drive and follow the signs for I-4 westbound.
