Total newbie here!!!
Ok I have gone from 289 to 245...for the past 2 years, recently started walking 1/2 hr on tread mill a day...still looking very pregnant. Thin in face, arms, upper body and hips. Can anyone offer some suggestions that have worked for them. Thanks!
BTW: Total Type A personality constantly living under stress. :sunny:
I did read the wish tips, but was wondering if there was something I was missing. I try to eat as healthy as possible, but I am not currently on a specific diet. I was thinking about trying SB. I can not give up carbs totally...Tried Atkins, and almost didn't make it. Has anyone tried cortislim or other products that have helped ? Thanks!

Hi there!!

First off, congratulations on losing 44 pounds. That is just awesome! Our starting weights are similar. I came to WISH weighing 282.5 pounds wearing a size 26 jeans and never EVER thought I'd lose 100 pounds and be wearing a size 12 (which are baggy on me now). You can do it!!! I know you can.

I do South Beach. It's totally doable. You do have to get through the first two weeks of Phase 1 without the carbs but believe me, it will only benefit you in the long run. I was the queen of donuts, ice cream and McD's. I'm not kidding or exaggerating when I say that either. I would eat a 20 piece chicken mcnugget, double cheeseburger and large fry for lunch everyday. Now I haven't had any of that stuff in over a year and I honestly don't miss it one bit. I was sitting at a desk on Friday at work with donuts at the next station. They were there all day. I constantly smelled them but wasn't tempted one bit. Once you get over your sugar addiction, it becomes so easy.

I say all that to say that I highly recommend South Beach. It's a great program and after the Phase 1 two week period, you can add back whole grains like cereals, breads and crackers. Plus you can have your fruit. We have a South Beach thread on WISH, please feel free to join us. I know you can be successful. You have already proven that by losing 44 pounds. Take care and please feel free to ask any questions about the program you may have.

Carrying weight in the abdomen is a classic sign of insulin resistance. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and insulin resistance is a common symptom (although there are other causes). There are diets out there that specifically address insulin resistance and they've worked well for alot of people. You might want to do some google searches and see if you think you might have IR. If so, it's worth a trip to your doctor to see exactly what's going on. Congrats on your weight loss!

Thanks ZerasPride and kfeuer...will do a little research, shopping for foods, then onward!!!
