Hi all. I have a question....I have been considering renting pts. for an upcoming trip. I have 6 in my group...2 adults and 4 kids...9,7,3,1...Do I need a 2 bedroom according to Disney policy? I am trying to convince DH to buy in....we've taken the tour and have looked into resale some....still working on him! Thought if we actually stay in one, maybe he'd be more inclined to buy in! :teeth:

I'm trying the same tactics for our August trip :)

Yes you would need a two bedroom. 4 or 5 (with one child under 3) can fit in a one bedroom.

That's too bad. It's a big jump in points between the 1 and 2 bedroom. My kids are young enough that they sleep in piles most of the time any way! :grouphug:

We also have 4 kids that are pretty young so we have to get a 2 bedroom. At first I cringed at how many points it takes and I compared it to how long we could stay in a 1 bedroom for the same amount... and kept torturing myself!

Well, two stays later and we could NEVER go do anything smaller! Our kids, who pile it up in beds at home (including ours) all slept in the second bedroom with only two to a bed!! My dh and I joke that we need to just live there b/c it's the only place our kids will actually stay in their own beds in their own assigned rooms. It's the best sleep we get all year! :rotfl:

You'll appreciate the 2 bedroom for the extra bathroom though! That is especially important at night!

I have four kids, too, and it is a little painful to have to make that big points jump for such little people, but the extra space is terrific. We stayed in an All-Star for one night a couple of years ago and then switched to BCV and got put in a one-bedroom (just three kids at the time). Well, there was no going back after that!

One nice thing about the two-bedrooms is that you can bring some grandparents or a friend or two along since you can have up to 8 guests, and then you've got a built-in babysitter. ;)

Good luck!

I am doing the same thing, although I am hoping that DH will want to buy before we leave. I would love to get the deal that they are having right now, before the price goes up. I even showed him the numbers for having his family go on a trip with us, there are 15 with just his immediate family. And that number will only get larger once we have kids. The really impressed him.

If you can make most of your vacation days during the week, it will be less. If you need a weekend day, you could consider getting 2 studios just for the weekend night(s) (maybe draw straws to see who gets the kids that night if you don't split them up!)

If you do go for the 2 bedroom though, you will really enjoy the space! You won't feel cheated once you get there.

We only have 2 kids and always get a 2-bedroom (and bring grandparents or cousins for babysitting :). Having all of that space is partly why we love DVC. Even when it's only the 4 of us, we get a 1-bedroom and all sleep in the king bed - couch never gets used - our kids sleep in piles on us. (Which probably ensures we'll only ever have 2 kids).
