Hi All,

About 9 years ago the wife and I had bought at BCV, at the time it was great and we used it twice before we had to give it up, because of financial issues.

We are now thinking about becoming members again, but I have some reserves with some of the posts I am seeing with changes to policies on resales, etc.

So can you please help with a few questions:

1) When we stay, do the park pass options still exist with length of stay passes? If so what are the rates for adults and kids?

2) If we decide to purchase a resale, what are we losing from purchasing direct from DVC?

Thanks so much.

There's no discount on tickets for DVC owners (only Annual Passes), and the tickets go up to 10 days. disneyworld.com has ticket prices...be sure to add the tickets to the cart then look at the cart; once in the cart you'll see the salestax added, but not before. I don't know about shipping to Canada, but you can also check out discounters like undercovertourist.com for discounted tickets (on that site tax is included).

Resale now means you can only stay at actual DVC resorts and at RCI. Nowhere else.

That was not it. I remember when we first had our DVC, that passes we got on our stays were equal to PArk Hoppers but they were call length of stays. Do the same options still exist? Or are they just called park hoppers.

Cheers

I'm still a new DVC member as of 2009. I've never heard of a ticket called a "length of stay" ticket. As DVC members, as the PP stated, we do not get discounts on regular park tickets. We do get a discount on annual passes which are good from the day you activate them to that day the following year.

I think the type of tickets you are inquiring about are no longer available. You now purchase tickets based on how many days you want to be at the parks. So if you may be staying for 7 days, but only want to visit the parks for 4 of those days you'd purchase a 4 day park pass. Then once you decide how many days you want you then move on to deciding if you want to park hop on those days and add that option. Once you've decided on that you can decide whether or not you want to add the water parks on to your tickets. Hopefully that wasn't to confusing.

To answer your second question if you purchase resale you can no longer use your points for things such as Disney Cruises, Adventures By Disney, etc. You can basically only use your points for DVC hotel stays.

I'm sure someone will correct me if my info is wrong :).

not at this time, no.

The stopped offering the length of stay passes a long time ago for DVC members. We not get a discount on AP's or you buy regular tickets.

If you buy resale, you will be able to use your points only for DVC stays or RCI exchanges. You cannot use them for Adventures by Disney, cruises, etc

To be clear, Disney does not offer length of stay passes to others any more either (not just DVC). They did away with that when they moved to the modular Magic Your Way tickets, which I believe was in 2005.
