Considering first non-Disney trip

We usually do Disney every year but considering a non-Disney vacation next summer. There will probably be five of us so we will probably be staying at Cabana Bay in a suite. We will probably stay Saturday to Saturday. I've looked into buying the Orlando FlexTicket Plus so we can do both Universal parks, Sea World, Aquatica and possibly Busch Gardens Tampa. Since Cabana Bay doesn't have the perk of front of the line and the FlexTicket Plus allows unlimited admission, that shouldn't be a huge issue?

Thanks for any input!! It will be strange not doing Disney parks but I think it's time for a break and we can always hit up Disney Springs or Winter Summerland for some Disney putt putt!

I've used the FlexTicket Plus in the past. It's a great deal if you are wanting to do Sea World and Busch Gardens! (If you're a coaster fan, Busch Gardens has some great ones!!!!!)

Not sure exactly what you mean about it not being a huge issue with the FlexTicket Plus and Cabana Bay's lack of Express Pass - can you elaborate on what you're thinking there? I'm not seeing the connection between the two, but maybe I'm missing something. :-)

Sorry I wasn't clear! Long story short, without having front of the line perks at Cabana Bay, the FlexTicket Plus should allow us plenty of time during the week to go back to IOA and Universal if the lines are too long. Am I making any sort of sense?! I think I'm making it more difficult than what it should be. We have too many people to do a regular room at one of the more deluxe hotels, but I don't want to spend that kind of money on two rooms just to get front of the line for rides. I'm a Disney vet but Universal virgin!

You are making sense. We did CBBR with 5 in the suite and it was great. Staying for that many days allows you to feel more laid back and not worry about missing out on the express pass. Go for rope drops for 3-4 hours, then make sure you do the last few hours each night. Lines are very manageable that way, even in the middle of summer.

We stayed for 10 days and went to a water park for a day trip, and Disney Springs for another. Other than that, we stayed on property, resort pool hopped and did parks. With uni opening the new water park next year, you might not need to fit in Busch Gardens or Sea World. Just my two cents, we tour pretty laid back.

Thanks guys! I can "Disney" with my eyes closed so this will be new for us. We are hoping that since Wet n Wild is closing (it's included in the FlexTicket Plus) that maybe for a little bit more $$ the option for the new waterpark may be there. I've enjoyed reading the Universal threads and they have been helpful.
