OK, we are thinking of upgrading to the DxDP. We have 2 DDs ages 4 and 2. I am thinking of using ADRs for the kids to spend a little time with the characters instead of some of the lines in the parks. Our typical day is we are in the parks around 9 or 9:30 and leave for the resort after 1 or 2pm then dinner after 7pm. Kids are young so dd needs a nap and older dd will go swimming. We are staying at the Poly so I have planned a lot of ADRs around the monorail line. Our tickets are on park per day.

We did the regular DP last year and loved it and we stayed CL so we had breakfast and snacks every day. Last year it was July and HOT and crowded and we had trouble finding CS places to eat. I was thinking the DXDP would help with that. I am also hoping we can buy snacks for our inlaws to help use up the snack credits and they can share our appetizers.

However, we are not big eaters but I love to eat! It is one of the things I look forward to most while on vacation as I have been dieting and losing weight for the past year (down 21 lbs!... even after Disney last year) but I don't to gain it back either

I have given a lot of thoughts on these. See what you think, if it is too much:

These days look like too much to me.

Sun., May 22 -
Breakfast - CS Capt. Cooks (Poly)
Lunch - CRT 1pm (MK) really big meal... not done til 2:30... will you want to eat again at 6?
Dinner - Crystal Palace 6:00pm (MK)

Tues., May 24
Breakfast - Hollywood and Vine 9am (HS)
Lunch - Mama Melrose 2pm (HS)
Dinner - Boma 7pm not sure how you are going to get a nap in here... lunch done at 3-3:30, hotel and nap at 4:30? That seems late for a nap?? How will the little one be without a nap and dinner at 7?

We like dxdp but we try to only have 2 ts meals a day. So the other meals would need to be 2ts credits, shows, or cs. We just found that a.) it was too much food, and b.) we spent too much time in restaurants. (Our kids are 4 and 2... it was just too much sitting still )

One more question... have you done Disney with the kids before? The late nights and early mornings (even if they normally are early risers) can be a combination for disaster. Dinners at 7 means not done until 8:30 and not in bed til 10ish. I'd worry about breakfasts before 9... due to being up, transportation, and such. Our first trip we missed ALOT of morning ADRS because the kdis were actually SLEEPING! (Never would have guessed that!)

Yes we did Disney last summer with the kids we were usually at the parks by 9ish and that is using the bus system! Their usual bedtime then was 10pm now it is 8:30.

CRT we squeezed in there because DD remembers it and is looking forward to it. We went last year and didn't think it was a big meal, dinner at 6pm was not our idea but the in-laws. We are on the monorail so I was hoping that transportation time wouldn't be as bad.

4:30 is a little late for a nap but we have done it before and most likely DD will sleep in her stroller. I don't know why my FIL made that lunch reservation so late he most likely wasn't thinking of the kids. Boma's we loved from last year but it is the first that will be axed if we can't do it.

The kids should be in bed at a decent time except for the nights we are at MK.

Those look pretty good to me...especially if the kids are used to 3 meals a day. You can always skip something if it just doesn't work out with the kids and do a CS instead. That's what's nice about the Deluxe Plan...the flexibility. So I would definitely do the upgrade based on your plans.

Have a great time!

By my quick count, I see 17 TS credits used over 7 days (21 credits). Since that's more than 2/3, DxDP probably makes sense.

Personally, I prefer TS over CS, so I'm on the side of going DxDP in the first place, of course.

We are doing the deluxe next month - two little girls too (DS will be with his marching band most of the days). Ours are past naps though. Since you are so close to MK, that should help with getting naps. Maybe move Crystal Palace back an hour, if possible? Since you'll have extra credits maybe upgrade to a couple of 2 credit places? If for no other reason than the kids meals look significantly better at those places. Steak or something else at DTD? Having the appetizers should help with the 2 year old too, I'm sure we will be sharing ours with our daughters.

We are doing a lot of the same places, CRT, Boma... We are also going to try Kona Cafe, the menu really appealed to us. Maybe lunch on the 25th or 27th, before nap? We also have Liberty Tree Tavern planned for lunch (menu looked good), so maybe that is an option for one of the days? I also wasn't crazy about the Askershus dinner menu, are you? We have a breakfast reservation - youngest is Belle obsessed. I also really thought it would be cute to see Remy as Chefs in Epcot - would your girls like that? My kids love that movie. The menu looked good too. That might be a good option for an Epcot day for lunch.

If the money is a big concern, you could add it up but you are eating at some expensive 1 credit places - I would guess it's already financially worthwhile. Have fun!
