I searched the FAQ's here and didn't see anything about this. If I join DVC...are there any discounts on non-DVC accomodations, restaurants, activities, tickets? Does anyone have a site that lists them? I even looked on www.disneyvacationclub.com and didn't see anything. Any help would be appreciated. TIA!!

Currently, there are discounts on selected restaurants, activities and tickets. None on non-DVC accomodations. There is a list on the Members Only portion of the website. Please keep in mind, that none of these discounts are part of the contract and are subject to change. (There have been changes in the past). Thus, it is not a good idea to consider them when you are making your decision to buy (or not buy DVC).

Most of us who are DVC members tend to stay at DVC resorts because that's the cheapest for us. A studio runs about $48 for us, not counting our initial investment. Since I joined at $54 and can now sell for about $72 per point, I don't really think of counting the cost of the points, since they haven't yet depreciated in value to cost me anything!

If you want non-DVC Disney resorts at a discount, buy an annual passport. they have great room discounts, as well as discounts on food, etc.

If you are considering joining DVC I would not join because of discounts. Disney from time-to-time has various discount programs. Disney is not too generous with discounts. I am now in the habit of asking everytime we dine or purchase items the specific discount, if any, they accept.

When you check-in using your points a flyer is a listing of restaurants providing DVC discounts. Also, sometimes a cash discount of 25% is provided if you are a DVC member. If you have annual pass discounts are provided at select Disney Hotels, if available. Good luck and enjoy!

Wow....thanks everyone. I am staying at the BWV this coming week and I was thinking that I'd stop to chat a bit with DVC.
