We have been down to the "world" plenty of times but this year for Easter I am for the first time, driving down from NY I will be bringing my Pet :dog:I'm not able to board him in NY while I'm away for this vacation, so he will be coming to Disney(lucky dog) :dogdance:staying at the Best Friends Center.

So my question is what time do you normally leave from NY and what state do you normally take a rest in sleep over? I will be the only driver, my son 16 will be with me as well we will be meeting my parents down there.

What should we bring or do along the way to help the trip go smoother? Thanks in advance

What part of the NY are you in that might help a little so we know which way you will be coming. This might sound crazy but it will help when we know so we know which major cities you will travel thru.

As always I am sure traffic will be heavy that week I swear all NYC go south then. If you can I would leave in the middle of the night( early am) as to try and beat traffic around DC, I drive 95 every night during the week so if it was me I would try to go around DC by about 5 AM that should get you ahead of the rush. I don't know how far you would like to travel in a day but I would try to get to the bottom of NC ot top of Ga. that would put you about 5-6 hours away from Disney.
Tis year we took our camper down so we stayed in Walterboro SC and from there it was less then 7 hours towing, if we just take the car we drive right thru, the last time was between Christmas and New Years 2008 and we left De around 5pm and got to Disney around 10 am. We did hear folks say the traffic was really bad in Ga during the day.
