Considering a trip Jan 18-25, is anything special going on?

Hi everyone, I am considering a trip in January and have never been at that time. Can anyone help me with pros/cons of these dates? What are crowds and weather like? Also is anything special going on that I should be aware of during that time? TIA!

Epcot will have the International Festival of the Arts during that time!

If you’re into MK parties/upcharge events, there’s a Disney After Hours night on 1/19 from 8pm-11pm.

I’d love to be going to WDW around those dates - cool weather, lowish crowds, low resort rates.

Two things to keep in mind during that time of year are shorter park hours and it can be a common refurb time for some rides.

I’ve been twice during that time (2013 and 2014) as my birthday is 1/20.

Crowds should be fairly light (by Disney standards, anyway). Weather is a wildcard. We had highs ranging from mid 50s to low 70s. Wind chills were in the mid 30s some mornings (but coming from -20 wind chill at home, that felt downright balmy!). The best advice I could give would be to pack and dress in layers. I actually brought light gloves and there was one particular morning I was very glad I had them.

Thanks everyone!! Good to know about the weather too!! That's one thing I hadn't considered...I guess if it's too cold for pool time we could always do mini golf or go to Disney Springs...
