It looks like there is possibility to modify my 4 day 1 bedroom villa BLT stay in January to a 1 bedroom at VGF. At least it looks like there could be a possible opening. I've stayed at the other monorail resorts, so I was thinking about trying VGF while there's a chance to get in. What do you think, should I try to get it?

It's different. Rooms are a bit bigger though it does not have the second bathroom like the BLT 1bdrm. New walkway to MK is nice. Mind you I would NOT change if Standard View is not available. Lake View has an excellent view of the Polynesian, the Wedding Chapel, and the hot Florida sun (south side of the building). I find the Standard View more pleasant especially upper floors.

I’m curious because I’ve only stayed in the studio, do you mean no second full bathroom or no second bathroom at all? I thought the studio layout was similar to poly with the 2 showers, or am I misremembering?

I think they mean no second FULL bathroom like BLT 1 bedrooms have.

The 1 bedroom does not have the split bathroom setup of the studios. There is a separate vanity/tub area adjacent to the main bathroom. The shower in the bathroom is large enough that everyone could wash at once (Eew).

Always find those kind of things interesting in studios vs 1 bedrooms. Kind of like the bwv and bcv studios sleeping 5 but the 1 bedroom only sleeping 4. Why am I losing a sleeping surface or bathroom in larger accommodations? Lol

The VGF bathroom is the 'room of a million pocket doors.' One of which (usually the one blocking the master bedroom to the toilet), is locked at least once per day by my kiddo, and I have to walk all the way around the unit to unlock it (usually in the middle of the night). I really, really wish that we had the extra full bath of BLT!!!

In the 1BR you get the full shower and an oversized "bubble" spa tub, rather than the standard tub (with second shower) of the studios. I say do it!

If it's still available, I say go for it! I thought VGF was nice to stay at once. I don't regret staying there, but I won't use that many points up for a room when I can get my "cheap" BWV rooms. LOL!!! Yes, I've become a points miser...

Well this probably isn't happening now.

We decided we want to do an Easter week trip instead of January. So we will most likely be at our home resort(s). Thanks for the advice anyway!

Not sure about this year with the built up demand but I’ve typically found Easter isn’t that bad. Disney is crazy busy but DVC availability isn’t too bad at 7 months the couple times I’ve tried. Don’t give up hope yet :) it could however be really point heavy being Easter and VGF.
