Nope, not offended at all. I'm really struggling right now. Going through a lot. Maybe this is my test, I don't know. I thought I'd been through my tests already.

Faith in god is something that I think I will struggle with my whole life.

I also look at things from an athlete's perspective, it's so hard for us when we give 110% to not achieve the results that we're looking for.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the tests. DH and I didn't know that when you turn to God, there is a testing period that follows. DH said he wishes that we found God when we had a better nestegg LOL.;) He's just kidding of course, but the testing period is not fun. I was recently tested over Christmas and even got kind of angry at God and was tempted to turn away - for a lot less than what you're going through. It lasted for a few minutes at best, but scared the bajeebers out of me. The enemy is sneaky that way. The enemy wants us to believe that it's an unanswered prayer and God's fault rather than his work.

One of the things I learned from that experience though, is that after a "test" like that I found myself closer to God than before. HUGS hg!!! Sorry to wane "preachy". I will cont. to pray for healing and peace for you. :)

Hello Cons! :wave2:

I feel so bad for DS. He has ADHD and all the social issues that go along with it. He's slowly going back to regular school after being homeschooled last year and this year (he goes to regular school for reading), but when he goes back he'll be a year back-basically repeating 3rd grade in a weird way. He doesn't have a lot of friends.

We have a fish fry at church tonight and DD invited a friend to come home with her after school and go to the fish fry. DS wanted to invite a friend, too. So I called the mom of the friend-mom said yes, friend was excited, DS was thrilled.

This morning I turned on my cell and friend's mom had called saying her son was sick and can't come. Last night she said the whole family was sick except the friend (mom sounded sick on the phone). When I told DS, he was crushed, and I thought he was going to cry, but instead he went all stoic, which is somewhat worse. Doesn't help that both DD's are social butterflies and are constantly getting invites to go places with friends. I have a couple more friend options I'm going to try for DS, so we'll see how this plays out.

Thanks for listening!

Awww, that's so sad! Hugs to your little guy and you. It's hard for a parent to see their child hurt. DD is just now starting to get invited to a ton of birthday parties and such where DS is lucky to get one invite a year. Also, last night our prayer group held it at the church and childcare was provided. When we went to pick up DD and DS - DS was hiding under a table while all the other kids were playing. It took us about 5 min. to get him out because he was so upset the other kids were ignoring him. On the other hand DD had to give hugs to everyone before she left because she had made friends with everyone in the room. I know what you're going through and it stinks.

I really hope one of the other friend options work out! hugs

By then we will have a new thread with plenty of room for your swelled head!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
 :thumbsup2 Seriously though, guys, I am going to try to call Glenn back on Monday so even though this sounds dumb, could you maybe just say a little prayer that I can get through to talk to him? I've been wanting to actually get to talk directly to him for a while now and the way things went this morning gives me a good strong feeling that I'll be able to come Monday. So I know that sounds weird.... but I'd appreciate it.:flower3:

Hi there!! :wave2: Just jump on in!!

Awwww.... to your DS. I'm so sorry that happened!!! I'll pray that something will work out for him.:goodvibes I can understand the ADHD issue, because my brother has ADHD and goes through the same thing as your DS.

Prayers said. Hope you get to talk to him.

Dolce, that tax problem article was a killer.:lmao: You know some libs had to be reading the first part and their heart rate was increasing and their saliva glands went into overdrive, but then half way through they got that sickening feeling in their stomachs.:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

:rolleyes1

 Thanks. I appreciate that. It would just mean the world to me if I got to talk to him.:goodvibes

Sooo.... guess where I'll be in 5 days???? :teeth:

Finishing your trip report? :teeth:

Oh... wait...

:scared: I am SO GLAD I am not a sophomore this year, which would have made me eligible to attend the inauguration with my college!!!!! I would have said not no, but hell no!!!!:lmao:

:thumbsup2 And I can hardly wait!!! Especially since the wind chill here right now is 19 degrees.:faint: I need to be someplace warm.

You couldn't pay me to be in DC next week - it'll be a mad house! Even if you went, how many people are actually going to get close enough to make it worth their trip and the massive crowds? It's going to be worse that the MK on NYE.

I know it! No way are that many people actually going to get close enough to see the event itself.... unless I knew for a fact that I'd be able to see and the trip would be worth the cost of transportation, lodging, whatever, I would not even risk it. I don't care WHO is getting inaugurated, because I would've gone if I had the chance and if it weren't going to be so CROWDED regardless of the fact that it's Obama that's being sworn in.

Hi guys! Two more days! Well sorta. My husband ran into a bit of a problem (visa turnaround time) so he's going to be delayed a day. :( He's so upset and frustrated. I'm bummed too, but we'll get over it. I told him we'll just get the grocery shopping done (we're staying in a condo) and be ready to do nothing but have fun when he gets there. I'm a little freaked out about having to drive back up to LAX and find him the next day. I'm not crazy about large crowded places with bad traffic. :sad2:

Hello Cons! :wave2:

I feel so bad for DS.

Thanks! Well, I called another friend from school's mom and got an answering machine, but didn't leave a message. Then I called mom of friend down the street and he can go!!! :cheer2:

This mom thing is tough!! (but so worth it!)

Awww, poor kid. I hate it when that kind of stuff happens. I'm glad you were able to find another friend that could go with him.

Well now isn't that interesting.:scratchin I guess they've decided that desperate times call for desperate measures. Even my friends know better than to hand me that sort of ammunition. Just let me know what sticks in your craw, and I'll be sure to keep shoving it in.:thumbsup2 :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Hey Soarin' if you get through be sure to tell him that both he AND Sarah have a fan club here!

Questions for Governor Palin?...I'm gonna have to ponder that one and maybe submit a couple.

I will!!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I'm thinking of a question or two now myself. Not sure exactly what I want to ask Governor Palin, but I'll think of something.

On January 20th, everytime I sit on my nice, warm clean potty, I will think about those waiting, and waiting and waiting...........

I did NYE once in Times Square. :crazy2:

I can't imagine why someone would want to sit in a large crowd like that. It will be crazy and most likely chaotic. And you're right, they won't all be able to get close enough to see.

Here's what most are going to see of BO.........

Ready? Look real close or you'll miss him!............

I'll even point him out to you.............

They will be looking at him mostly on large TV's. Heck, I can do that from home. In a nice warm, comfortable home.
