That being said, I think it's smart that he's appealing to the middle. However, since it is mostly strong liberals who elevate him to Messiah status, we'll see how that plays out.

so back to this rick warren thing. i distinctly remember hearing, during the v.p. debate, oh-no-joe saying (and he said it without the word "neither"), "barrack obama nor i believe in redefining marriage." and sara followed by saying she and mccain felt the same way.

why do people think this new duo is all in favor of gay marriage? did i miss one of the 23,023 press conferences when somebody instituted a "change" of mind or something?

That's what I can't figure out. I don't get what all this fuss is about. However, he did say that marriage laws were up to the states, so he did not support a federal marriage amendment. Still, he has said several times that marriage is between a man and a woman, even though the excuse I hear from his supporters was that he was lying to appease the religious right (same with his personal religion). If that is true, wouldn't that make him like any other politician?

Are you sure those are gnats? They look more like mosquitos. There are plenty of other places they can go other than our cozy little hamlet.

I agree. People tend to do that with politicians, whether for the best or for the worst. I remember they said Gov. Arnold was for gay marriage when he actually wasn't.

I don't know about radio. I know they have an AMAZING podcast. I also know there was a black power magazine of the same name a while back.

They're a magazine that's for young adults from a Christian perspective (notice how I didn't say it's just for Christians). They are very thought-provoking and often hilarious. They are very much for those who are in the indie-rock scene and are into Donald Miller and Brian McLaren. They are very moderate (which are the only things I read nowadays), but are very anti-abortion and pro-family. They just don't make those the central issues. I'm going to stop at that since I don't want to make this a commercial. I just thought a recent piece they had about Obama in the magazine and I wanted to see if anyone else knew about it. They talked about his two-faced abortion stance and weak theology, but they also got into how his version of liberalism is what young evangelicals are flocking to (well, flocking is a strong word, but still, it is a trend).

I don't know...I think Obama is getting just a taste of what it's like to be ALMOST everyone's dream come true and it hasn't been as much fun as he wanted it to be [kinda like I am when I order the two-scoop fudge brownie thing at Baskin-Robbins ] so HE'S perfectly willing to wait til Jan 20 but the followers are quite a different story....

The sad thing is that everyone will be before everyone realizes that he's not the dream come true but, by then, he'll be in charge of all the doctors!

I'm imagining all the other pesky "notions" the Obama administration will try to get around being "hamstrung" with. Like the notion of free speech, the notion of gun rights. All those silly notions in the Constitution are really gonna hamstring The One and his plans for a new America, don't ya think? Should he win re-election in four years, I'll bet right here and now that he tries to do away with "the notion" of presidential term limits. And I haven't any hope at all that he believes in our silly notion of a ready national defense. Now, a notion for tax increases? I'm pretty sure that's a notion he can put his arms around and squeeze.

well since i received a warning from the moderator saying i "quoted inappropriate material", i won't now question why somebody would complain only about warren, and not about the duo going into office.
