Soarin Are you there now? How is the program working out for you so far? Do you like your placement and your roommates?
My son, who had to stay home this trip, is sending me daily pictures of Jack with his cell phone.![]()

I'd like to nominate my Pebbles for mascot too. Not exactly a puppy (she's 10), but she could be like the matriarch of the mascots.![]()
Hope everyone had a great Christmas!
I got a new puppy, also. DH got me a husky. She's only 7 weeks old so I wish she was still with her mother another week. I am also fostering this weekend a little 1/2 cocker 1/2 lab. Poor thing should still be with it's mom. Apparently, a grandmother got it for grandchild without checking with parents. She will be going to a home on Monday, but I took her in. They hit me up at work yesterday. I didn't have the heart to say no. Fortunately, DH is patient and knows how I am.![]()

Thanks!!! Nah, but I love animals of any kind and I hate to see them in a bad or unwanted situation. I've learned so much from our local rescue group director who also is the obedience trainer for all my doggie's.
Good news! The orange smell is.... BAAACK!![]()

My house looks like it was hit by a bomb. I have some serious work to do today. Oh my word, it's awful.
For your listening pleasure, after hearing that lovely rendition of Dancing Queen! May I present... One night in Bagdad.

OH, and my house is completely trashed too. I have boxes and bags of wrapping paper and gift boxes, toy packaging, etc. There are toys and clothes all over the place in the living room, and little gold foil coin wrappers stashed here and there wherever my son was when he decided to eat chocolate coins. Right now I just don't care. It's been an exhausting two weeks.![]()
i call this a "protective layer". it keeps dust from getting on things.

Well this isn't good...
Thankfully the snow is finally melting. Unfortunately, the bathroom skylight just started leaking.![]()
a spa shower.
I'm really worried about where the water is going that isn't coming into the bathroom. I don't want the ceiling in my bathroom collapsing while my husband is in Iraq. I hate skylights. What kind of stoner puts in skylights in Washington? They ALWAYS end up leaking. AAAAAARGH.What kind of stoner puts in skylights in Washington?
Mornin' Cons:
Thought some of you might enjoy this article from The Daily Telegraph about GWB and his legacy. It includes this little nugget:
"Ten or twenty years from now, historians will view Bush's actions on the world stage in a more favourable light. America's 43rd president did after all directly liberate more people (over 60 million) from tyranny than any leader since Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Widely seen as his biggest foreign policy error, the decision to invade Iraq could ultimately prove to have been a masterstroke. Today the world is witnessing the birth of the first truly democratic state in the Middle East outside of Israel. Over eight million voted in Iraq's parliamentary elections in 2005, and the region's first free Muslim society may become a reality. Iraq might not be Turkey, but it is a powerful demonstration that freedom can flourish in the embers of the most brutal and barbaric of dictatorships."
Of course we'll never see such an assessment in a US newspaper.

Never see it in a US paper, true. Or any paper anywhere else in the world. Or anything printed for that matter. Or thought about either. But fear not, his administration will always be remembered and studied. As a bad example.
Husky names:
Nanook
Jack or London for Jack London (call of the wild)
Buck (same reason)
Penguin (wrong pole, but I love penguins!)
