Hi everyone. I'm slow at wrapping today. I've gotten a ton of laundry done though.

DH found one of his gifts. We had so much laundry to do and he needed to round, so I tossed him a present and told him to just wear that and I'd get hopping on the laundry today. :rotfl2: I've done 7 loads so far!

:rotfl2: Well, that's one way to handle backed up laundry chores. :rotfl:

beautiful babies!!!

ITA! :lovestruc

We're going in six weeks. Hope it warms up a few degrees by then :)

Good luck, and to blestmom as well. Hit the jackpot!!! :goodvibes

I would def pack sweaters - even in winter those casinos are always frigid, too. :cold:
I guess they don't want you to fall asleep at the slot.

MM- you crack me up. :rotfl2:

This is just not my week for diapers. :sad2:

Tonight I accidentally washed a diaper in the washing machine, and it ain't cloth. I swear if I had brains I'd be dangerous.

So I took the clothes out the washer and inside are all these jelly-like granules. All stuck to the clothes, too. There is a LOT. I'm not sure how to get them out. :confused3 I hope I didn't ruin the washer. :headache:

Ok, I'm going to brag here. I am DONE with my Christmas shopping (including the stocking stuff!). I am DONE wrapping said gifts. I am DONE with my cookie baking for neighbor gifts — and, I tried 3 new recipes and they all turned out wonderful. I am nearly done with the Christmas dinner shopping. I get to chill a little and just wait for Santa to come.

Now, you have to understand that this is the first year since my first baby was born (16 years ago) that I am not positively frantic with things undone for Christmas. Typically, I am baking with the kids on Christmas Eve, yelling, "You will finish frosting those cookies and you will enjoy it!" :rotfl:

I am usually wrapping gifts at midnight on Christmas Eve (or even early Christmas morning). I usually come across something I forgot to wrap later on Christmas Day and have to hand it to my husband or one of the kids and say, "Oh, yeah, ummm, I got you this, too…."

I don't know how I got to this organized state that I find myself in, but it is sweet. Surreal, but sweet.

Merry Christmas!

Look on the bright side, I'm sure you aren't the first (and won't be the last)to do that. I bet if you google it you'll find a solution to getting the little jelly thingys out of your clothes.

Not being a mom, I wasn't familiar with doing that [although I've known a few folks who put regular dishwashing liquid in the dishwasher - not a good idea unless you really want a sudsy floor] - anyway, I googled it and found lots of hits - apparently this has been done many times before.

One hit led me to this blog - a lady with 6 children whose blog has gotten national attention --

Several posters said they did the same thing - someone said she just let everything dry out before trying to get the gel thingies off and someone else said she kept washing everything over and over again. Someone else mentioned putting the clothes in the dryer but that sounds a little iffy - the gel things might melt into the clothes.

Anyway, you're not alone - and good luck!

Oh, and no one mentioned ruining a washer so that's probably safe.

These are my fur babies.......
Sadie and Beau
Sadie is on the left and Beau is on the right
My DH helped me do this and now I'm having fun

My babies do the exact same thing....and Michelle is right, you're a picture-postin' fool....

So glad to hear the good report from the doctor - now we can really party when I'm at Disney!

Which reminds me- I accidentally left a black ballpoint pen in the pocket of my turquoise and gray North Face jacket (which cost my mom like $200- I feel awful about what I did to it) and ran it through the wash..... needless to say, the pen exploded (like literally.... there were bits of pen floating in the wash) and black ink went all over that expensive coat. I took it to the dry cleaners and it's been there since last Tuesday.... *knock on wood* that they can fix it. I was going to tell that on the other thread, but I forgot.

I am notorious for leaving my Kleenexes in my pockets in the winter and running the clothing containing them through the wash. So my mom has had a lot of shredded tissue to pick off the clothes before. I hope you get the gel stuff off your clothes! That really stinks....

Back to reading on my favorite conservative's website (yeah, since none of you guys know who that is....;) )..... and listening to An Inconvenient Book. More like laughing my butt off.:lmao: Holla if ya need me!!:upsidedow

Did you hear Glenn on Friday? He did a monologue where he tore apart the song "Baby It's Cold Outside". It was so darn funny, in his sick humor sort of way. Here is a link to the transcript. Not as funny just reading it, but you get the idea:

Question:
You know how there were some new liberal posters who "appeared" mysteriously a few months ago?
I received an email notification from one who's tag says Proud single dad.
There were pictures attached. This is the link:

Notice the highlighted name. There was a liberal poster from GA whose user name was the same and she was proud single mom, coincidence or not???

Ward I was :scared: , too.

And like :scared1: Whaaaattttt!!!??????

Thank you ! :worship:

I loved her blog LOL! After staring at this mess - I decided to leave the door open to the washer and see if those jelly things dry out. Then, tomorrow I'm going to try to suck them up with the vacuum. Thank God I didn't have too much clothes in there. Ugh - I have so much stuff to do tomorrow.

I've done that. More than once. :headache:

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I must have scooped up the diaper after DD's bath with the wet towels and stuff and just totally zoned out. :rolleyes1

So now I know what absorbs wetness and stops leaks. :teacher:

I once threw a loaded diaper down the stairs to put it in the trash later and it exploded all over the front door. Never did that again.

That's awesome Loco. I'll be done wrapping gifts tonight (I'm incredibly bored downstairs by myself so I keep coming up here to talk with the kids and DH). I'm on my 8th load of wash - only two more to go and I'll be done. Anyhoo, I hope to be done with wrapping tonight and then I need to finish the stocking by Christmas Eve. I'm hoping to bake some cookies on Christmas Eve

Question for all of you - my inlaws host Christmas on Christmas day and my MIL last year only baked a ham, nothing else. She didn't want anyone bringing anything because she wanted to keep things simple, and I listened and when we got there, there was nothing but ham and the cookies I brought to eat. My kids were starving. Thankfully, my smart SIL didn't think that would be enough to eat and she brought potatoes, veggies, pies - lots and lots of food when they arrived later.

This year, I'm bringing something, but we have a three hour drive. Can you think of something substantial that can travel well? I'll probably bring cookies like I do every year, but I'd like to add to the meal. Any ideas?

Thanks!

oogie about loaded diaper exploding....yep, it's a good thing I'm not a mom - that would have gotten me out of the house for good! Speaking of loaded diapers, leaving them in parking lots seems to be a trend nowadays, ew....

About dinner, good for the SIL -- do you have a crock pot? You could make mashed potatoes or some other type of casserole in the crock pot and warm it up when you get there without changing the consistency of it. Or bake a casserole almost to the end [like for 20 minutes instead of 30] then pop it into the oven at your MIL's house to finish up.

Or a salad - green, fruit, potato, coleslaw - but that might not be what your kids like.
