John, I am rolling my eyes sarcastically with your map. I believe that I will be sorting socks at the very least January 20, 2009. At the very worst, I will be scooping the litter box and cleaning toilets.

No, you will be toasting my 40th birthday.

I can't believe how some folks have their panties in a twist...over inuaguration tickets. Lord, they can't be that difficult to get. I know several people who are going. I was even offered tickets.:lmao: I'm having a "do it yourself" root canal that day. NO WAY I'm going to give that up!:rotfl:

I think I'll get you to give me one.:lmao:

OMG! Sherry, you are such a youngster!!!! Now I totally feel old. I turned 50 this year and find myself purchasing 2.00 power cheater glasses at Wal-Mart. If it weren't for the fact that I am literally packing for yet another WDW trip, I would be in the corner in a fetal position sucking my thumb.

Thanks for the well wishes, all. It looks a lot better, but it's hurting now from being online too long. This is a random rant, but anyway. Does anyone here collect (or do your children collect) the American Girl dolls? I'm not a doll collector myself, but I do have Samantha, Felicity, and Kirsten from the early 1990s. They're all like brand new, as are the clothes I was given for them over the years. I have all but 2 of the original Samantha outfits. It's all stored away, but still in excellent condition.

So anyway. Saw on TV a few weeks ago that Samantha and all of her things were being "archived" at the end of the year. Since I was missing a couple of outfits, I decided I wanted to have the complete original collection for old time's sake. Went to the website, they still had the two I needed. Forgot about it for awhile, went back tonight and almost everything is gone! Why the heck couldn't they keep making the stuff until their stupid retirement date? Naturally ebay has almost all of it for twice the price. Since I expected the price gouging to get worse, I just got the two outfits I was missing off of there for over $40 each (would've paid around $22 each, no shipping if bought through AG).

Now, how stupid is Mattel? Tons of people want this stuff, and they just up and say "Oh, well, once we're out of most things, we're not bothering to make more. Too bad!" Do they not comprehend how much money they're losing because of that bright idea? Sheesh. It was a bad day for the whole line when they bought out Pleasant Company. Variety went down, quality of the clothes went down, etc. Thankfully all but 1 of the things I currently have are from PC.

Anyway, if any of you collected the stuff years ago or have daughters who love Samantha, get what you need/want now. As it gets closer to Christmas, I can't even begin to imagine what people will be hawking this stuff for. :sad2:

Wow, really? I used to collect dolls. I was into the Magic Attic dolls, though, though I had Am. Girl doll clothes.:upsidedow

I am trying to get my signature to say Merry Christmas and I didn't want it to be over the guidelines for the total amount if things in it. but I can't figure it out anyway.

I see the problem. You need the image code for what you're putting in, not just the URL. It should look like this:
url]
with no spaces between the brackets and the URL.

THANK-YOU!!!!!
Look it worked! I have learned so much tonight!

I am sorry about your Samantha accessories being so much more. It is good you found them though.

Turning 50 is a whole new ballgame. Hot flashes rule your life now. Cellulite settling in the worst places is the name of the game. Being required to have colonoscopies because you turn 50 is a reality. Having to purcahse those daily pill containers with letters large enought to see is a reality. Yet, for some reason I am starting to finally feel comfortable in my own skin. Whats up with that? :confused3

Glad to help. :goodvibes

I'm glad I found them too. That is until they probably inevitably bring all of this stuff back in 6 months or so, kinda like what happened with the Ty Beanie Babies, and then I'll want to bang my head against a wall for paying so much! :lmao:

I guess I just don't get the point of it all. They had a show on AG dolls on Oprah last year, and they said Samantha was still their top seller, even after 21 years (at the time). Why stop selling it all now? My Samantha doll is probably 16 or 17 years old itself. And I, thanks to some kindness on my mom's part, could afford to get what I was missing. A lot of parents can't afford that for their young children. I'm an adult, and while I have great memories of my AG dolls when I was little, I'd get over it if I wasn't able to get those clothes. But I feel bad for the kiddos, especially. The AG dolls were a huge craze when I was in elementary school.

Since I turn 30 in a few weeks - what's 30?

when i was growing up, that's what my parents used to call my bedroom.:lmao:

:lmao:

No, I'm hyper over Christmas, too. I've been watching Christmas shows all week and listening to Christmas music. :santa:
We can't find any santa outfits for DS. They're all 18 mo and up. He'll be 10 months tomorrow, but you know that as he's two days older than your DD. :thumbsup2 MIL has a 12mo santa outfit for him when we meet in Cali in 3 weeks.

:lmao:

Please send all the 18 mos my way- she is wearing that size now! It's her length - not girth. ;) Too bad my Christmas outfits are girly, they were 12 mos.

My sister always told me this in regard to baby clothes-
Be aware that whatever size you're looking for, they won't have it.

I hate when she's right. :headache: However I did find PJ's (or 'feetys' as I call them) that are totally ingenious IMO. They are called Snugglies. The feet have cutouts by the toes and they have a flap that flips over to cover them. When they get too long for them, you just cuff them up. Viola! :wizard:

Now why didn't I think of that? I could be a multi-millionare.

No, you will be toasting my 40th birthday.
