Heya Aggie Conservative. Everything is going great down here at Disney. Had my first Engineering class today and found out one of my classes is Backstage Tour of Illuminations and how they set it up.

Sounds like a cool class. Not sure what your degree plan is (but see that Engineering is involved). Something to look out for as you move into your chosen field is professional accreditations (ya know stuff that goes at the end of your name on business cards). You can start a lot of these while still in school (apprenticeships etc) and get help paying for the certifications.

Two accreditations stand out. They are project management accreditations and have served me well over the years. Project Management acumen is a key skill-set in the business world and cherished and sought after regardless of your degree (did I mention my undergrad degree is in History? Napoleonic era no less).

These accreditations open doors (and sometimes blow them to smithereens in the process).

PMP (Project Management Professional) through PMI (Project Management Institute). You can actually get your CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) while an undergrad. It is relatively cheap too (2k all told)

CPM (Certified Project Manager) through IPMA (International Project Management Association). This program is primarily European and Far East based (and a bit spendy for us "colonials"). It is a 4 tier program where you start out at "D" and work your way up to "A". I have languished at "B" for years but that is simply because I currently wear a Bus Dev "hat". Get your company to spring for it. If they are smart, they will pay for it.

Anyhoo sorry for the intrusive advice (but it is sincere). Enjoy the class. There will be a test on what you have learned. haha.

Yeah, but loco, I'm sure our founding fathers were thinkers, so consider it a complement. Many of us on this thread are thinkers.

That's what I was thinking after I took the test. I sooo wanted to be a fighter. You can go back to retake and cheat, but even if you get it to come out to say you're a fighter; you'll still really be a thinker.


So, America is having an economic crisis. We're poor; all of our money is coming from China. The US gov. has just spent billions of dollars on pork spending that will take generations for us to pay off... so, why are we sending 900 million to Gaza? I'm all about helping out others but we're not in a position to do so. Some other country needs to send that 900 million.

So I am a thinker, and that is where I want to be, even if Hilldog is in the same category.

It is funny, because in that class today, we took a test to figure out if you were a doer, brainstormer, integrator, or a problem solver. I was ridiculously even on all of them. I was slightly leaning towards brainstormer and integrator, but only by one question. I am a well rounded guy.
