Where did your aunt live...here in WA? And that stinks that your parents were gone when it happened. Not that they were in HI, just that they were gone.

I have the GB episode from this week to watch. Maybe I'll watch it in a bit.
Do you have it DVR'd or can you find it online?

I'm so sorry.

:grouphug:

Thanks! Much appreciated.

Did you see the one with Glenn. It sure looked like he was having a good time.

:goodvibes

I have that one DRV'd. I'm going to watch it later. He has a good time wherever he goes! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yeah, it stinks that they are gone. I don't want to see them miss a minute of their vacation, they deserve it, but I know they'll want to come back. She lived in Burbank so I'm assuming the funeral will be down there. :confused3

I have it DVR'd I'll watch it later. I really can't concentrate on anything right now.

Hey my friends...just popping in real quick to say hi :) I'm not around all that much anymore...been working like crazy - but I lurk and read your posts :thumbsup2

:cheer2: transparant's back!!! Missed ya girl.

And Hello to all our new posters! :) So nice to see some new 'faces'. :thumbsup2

Hey transparant! :goodvibes

Quick question while I'm here:

How do I get to be a 'know it all'? I feel like I'm missing out. :upsidedow

Do you just need to know how to use Google? :teacher: Cause I can use Google.

Is there a trick to it though? Special classes? Do I need to be in a certain profession
? :confused3 Any tips appreciated! popcorn::

I actually heard somewhere that you can get a BS degree from Google University. :confused3

What's ebates?
ebates is a site which provides rebates on a certain percent of your online purchases, depending upon the vendor. some vendors only offer coupons, but mostly you'll look up a vendor name and it'll have about a 4% rebate.

take j.c. penney as an example. perhaps i'd like to purchase some new bath mats. i'll go to ebates.com and log in, then i'll choose j.c. penney from the vendor list. they offer 4% cash back on purchases. i peruse the bath mat choices, make my selection, enter any other promotional code from the store, and check out.

you won't see the rebate on the j.c. penney order form, but within two or three days, you'll see the sale recorded in your ebates.com account. each quarter, based on those purchases, they send you a check. i think if you exceed some certain amount in rebates they'll send the checks more often.

to date, i have received $642.73 in rebate checks. it has taken about five years, but it's free money.

you can also search by item to see which vendors give the bigger rebates. interestingly enough, i see that amazon is no longer a member, but ebay is!!!

most importantly, disney.com is a member.

i've never received any spam or weird e-mail either from this site or their vendors. the only message i ever get is when there is extra cash back being offerred.

Honestly? I've lived in Texas my entire life (30 years now) and I've never heard a person say that. So, I can't help you but maybe Gina can... now that it's been determined that I'm not a 'true' Texan and she apparently says 'yee haw'. :teeth:

LOL!! I'm sorry... I did *not* mean it as a slam against you, Dolce!! I was in a hurry posting, and it came out wrong. Mea culpa!

As for "yee haw," now that I think about it, I mostly say it when I want to see yankees roll their eyes at me. :rotfl:

Cool, I'll have to go check it out! Thanks! :thumbsup2

:lmao: :rotfl:

Hugs to you HonuGirl. So sorry to hear about your aunt.

Ebates sounds similar to Upromise. I shop through their website and the merchants have a rebate system that goes into a college fund for my daughters. Well - hopefully the money is there when we need it.:confused3

i'm a greedy conservative, preferring to have the filthy booty in my spendy little hands.

One of my aunts just died this morning. I just got the call. She was my last link to my grandma who I loved more than life itself.

I'm so sorry. I know how you feel.

My grandmother was the eldest of nine....her youngest sister is the only surviving sibling. She's our matriarch and very dear to me.

a reminder for anybody who shops online:

i just received another rebate check from ebates.com. just sayin'...

I wish I'd know about ebates sooner. I didn't know, about them, until right before Christmas.

I just received a fat check...$8.27.:rotfl: But, I'm not complaining.

Thank you!

It's really hard when you lose that last surviving relative to someone you love so much. It really brings back all the pain.

My aunt was a pistol. She had so much fire, so much life, just like my grandma. She was wonderful.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Hey, it's $8.27 more than you had yesterday! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

me either. the quarterly ebates.com check combined with bho's $13 will buy a tank of gas. whee.

when you REALLY see a check is when you make a big purchase like an appliance or a computer. i shop in person, make a list of the ones i like best, including model numbers, then i check ebates.com to see if i can purchase the same thing online. it's worked really well so far.

Oh, yeah - I forgot! A friend signed me up for Upromise, too, in hopes that my wild out-of-control spending [namely on gas per my long commute] would translate into $$$ for her children's college fund. I've probably gotten them halfway through by now, considering how much I drive.

[Which is nothing compared to wonder's commute - every time I fight traffic or wish to complain, I think about you, wonder... ]

Oh hey now. You can transfer your contribution to my kids!

OH evil thought - maybe Obama can figure out how to use this ebate/upromise model to get more contributions from us rich enough to shop online.:surfweb: :sad2:
