Please help!!!

I have only ever flown non-stop to Orland but I am thinking of booking with Delta and both flights will have a connection. On the way to Orlando I will have a 35 minute layover in JFK and on the way back it would be a 45 min layover in La Guardia

when I land at the New York Airports are the next gates close to each other that this would be enough time to catch the next flight?

I travel and make connections all of the time, and I would seriously question both of those. It's not necessarily if the gates are close or not, but if your flight is delayed at all you are going to have a difficult time making the connection. Add to that the fact that Delta operates gates in three separate terminals at JFK and the same at LaGuardia, and your problems mount. Depending on what terminals you come ionto a go out of, you actually may have to take a bus from one building to another. I don't know exactly how Delta is set up, but I know I've had to bounce between buildings at LaGuardia before.

I agree, it's not enough time. Also, would you be flying in from Canada? If so, you wouldn't be able to clear customs in 35 minutes at JFK. Or would you clear customs in Toronto?

You clear customs in Toronto.

OP - your connection time is too short, even if it is a legal connection. Try for at least an hour to be safe.

I would be flying out of Buffalo so no customs but I figured that is not enough time. I wonder why delta would set it up like that

Because they can.

With Delta, I'm a little surprised you aren't connecting in Atlanta. I think there are a lot more flights going in and out of Atlanta than the two NY airports. And going down, if you miss one, there is another an hour or two later.

I didn't notice any that stopped in Atlanta, unless they were the later at night ones
