Connections voucher question for buffet, please advise!

I plan to join Connections, but I have a question. Under the "Kingdom" vouchers for 29.50, the restaurant in Norway is listed. Why would you pay 29.50 per person for a voucher, when the rest. is buffet only and it only costs 12.99. Now I no that is without dessert or a drink, but there is a big difference between 29.50 and 12.99.

Am I missing something?

You wouldn't use the voucher there. You have to check the menus to see where the vouchers are worth using. I used my lunch voucher at Le Cellier and the Rainforest Cafe. Saved money using the vouchers there.

Since these same vouchers are often given as part of Disney packages, the notations of restaurants where they are valid is just that - a list of all restaurants that will accept the vouchers. Most who use these vouchers did not pay for them directly and/or have no real idea of their "retail" value therefore they would not know that Norway is a poor use of the voucher. Since the vouchers are often part of packages, many people just see them as a "meal" without any particular value and Disney allows them a broad selection of restaurants to use them at. I am sure Disney would much rather you did use the vouchers at Norway (and some of the other restaurants) as it would definitely work out in their favor but then of course others restaurants would not. Since Disney continues using these vouchers, it must all work out at least even or in their favor more often not.

So, when you purchase the vouchers from Connections and pay the "retail" price for them, you obviously want to be selective about where you use them in order to use them effectively. Therefore, you should always carefully inspect the menus and prices at the restaurants listed to find those where you will actually save you money versus those where Disney would come out ahead
