Hey Everyone:

We are here at the Beach Club Villas - the weather is awesome at 85 and sunny. We used our connections vouchers today at beaches and cream and they have changed the policy a bit. You get one sandwich with either fries or fruit. You can still get anything to drink except beer and any dessert. You just can't get the salad, chili etc as an appetizer or side. She said that Disney clamped down on them as people were taking advantage of it. So, just thought I would give you all an update. W

We're off to MNSSHP tonight. Everyone is taking a bit of down time so we can all stay up late!

Hi Leslie !

Thanks for taking time out of your vacation to post that news. There are always people interested in Connection Voucher news, whether they use them or not!

That's too bad they have clamped down. We used Q&C's @ Beaches & Cream our last two trips and made out like bandits. Chicken Caesar Salad, Prime Rib sandwich, side of fries AND Onion Rings, shake and dessert (Kitchen Sink once)...all for an $11.00 voucher! It was more than enough food for my wife and I to split.

It was good while it lasted, but I guess the new policy is more realistic. :(

We just ate at Beaches and Cream on Wed., 10/23 and used 2 Q&C vouchers. My sister got the prime rib sandwich, which came with fries, so that was her side. But I got the chicken ceaser salad, and since it doesn't come with a side, I could (and did) order the onion rings. From what I understood, the "clamping down" meant you could no longer order a sandwich that came with fries AND order another side, such as a side salad. The fries have to now count as your side. But if the entree has no side (like the chicken ceaser salad) ordering another side was permitted. That's how it worked for us.

seems they are tightening down things all over. I was going to use mine there as people said you got the most bang for your buck. Oh well, My DH did not like it when I got them so I wont tell him about this!

We still got PLENTY of bang for our buck at B&C! We used 2 vouchers at a total cost of $22.

With one we got:
Prime Rib Sandwich with fries $11
Cappucino smoothie $3.80
No Way Jose Sundae $8
Total before tax and tip: $22.80

With the other we got:
Chicken Ceasar Salad $9
Onion Rings $4
Fudge Mud Slide $8
Diet Coke $2
Total before tax and tip: $23.00

We also ordered my nephew a sprite, which she didn't even charge for. That would have cost $2.

The total food would have cost $47.80, plus 6% tax (I think it's 6%, it is where I live) $2.87, plus 15% tip $7.60, for a total value of $58.27. I spent $22 on the vouchers and did leave an additional $5 tip because our waitress was awesome, so I only spent $27. I "saved" $31.27!

Do the Quick & Casual Vouchers ($11.00) really include tip? Does it say so on the vouchers or has one of the waiters/waitresses said that they get a tip when these are used? I'd hate to not leave a full tip if the vouchers don't include one.

to verify/confirm! Thanks!

Carol,
This is the front of an actual voucher (I cut off the part that has the serial number of the certificate on it):

You can see it says: "Applicable tax and gratuities are included. "

It is only a 15% tip, so I always like to bring it up to at least 20% of the bill....

Our last trip was the first time we ate at B & C. I loved it, it is one of my favorites of all the resturants we tried. We made out like bandits with the CQ vouchers. I learned a lesson. It was more food than I could eat. My DS and I should have shared our meal. My DS is a fifteen yr old huge eater......We both got the double cheeseburger, I got onion rings, he got fries, the waitress gave him a cherry coke and refilled it three times. I had one cherry coke. He got a milkshake for his dessert and she brought out the metal cup they used to mix it in because it still had alot of shake left in it. I ordered the Milky way dessert (I think that is the name of it). We couldn't eat everything. We brought back with us one half of both of our burgers. My bill was eight dollars. I purchased a kids meal for my DD. The waitress made the difference. So I think it depends on who you get. She did tell you could order the kitchen sink but they are limiting one per family with the coupons.

We used our vouchers at The Pepper Market and I did not like the place at all. The food was horrible. I had the prime rib. I will never go back there.

Thanks so much!

Can you still get a kitchen sink with the vouchers?

I got the Kitchen Sink on Oct. 8. I did hear of someone being told that couldn't order in that same time period. It may depend on your server, but I would be persistant if they say no.

One KS per family?? Are you sure?? We are a familly of 9(when my Dad will be with us). We were actually planning on getting 2 KS and sharing them.It will be the only thing we order . With 3 very big eaters(teens) I can see them eating one by themselves and the rest of us will share the other. Do you think they will make an exception to a big family??

If you haven't seen a kitchen sink for yourself, you may want to reconsider getting two, no matter how many big-eaters you have. My advice is to order one and wait to see if you really need to order another. There is a LOT of ice cream in a kitchen sink!

Disneykins - check out Mousesavers for more information about Connections (one of the places to buy the vouchers)... you could also look at any posts related to Connections.

Our server told us on our visit Oct. 7, 2002 we could get the kitchen sink with our Meal Voucher but only one Kitchen Sink per family. This could depend on which server you get. The one we had was very generous with what we ordered.

I'm sure since it isn't stated on the vouchers you get each get a Kitchen Sink if you pushed it. but you need to order one first then get another later. I promise it will fill the whole family up.

Our waitress said that we could get the kitchen sink - the only thing they are clamping down on is the side dish with the sandwich and fries. You should not have a problem. Just got back last night and it is chilly here - it was 90 yesterday and we did blizzard beach. It was very fun.

On our trip 10-20 to 10-23, DH and I ate off of one voucher after the waitress saw it on the table and right away asked us if we wanted to split a meal. Knowing how large the portions are, we said yes. We had One double cheeseburger, served already cut in half and on separate plates, one (large) order of onion rings, pitcher of diet coke, and the No Way Jose sundae. She told us we could order the kitchen sink if we wanted, but I had shared one with 4 people before and we left so much uneaten I felt guilty!
All in all we had $23 dollars of food (pre-tax) for $11. Good deal I think.........and the service was excellent!
