Hi there -

Just wondering if anyone out there has cancelled a Connections membership before the month trial period - then signed up for a new trial period at a later date.

Just joined Connections - smooth as silk - ordered vouchers for our December trip - received them promptly - checked my credit card - charged only once for the vouchers plus $1 for the trial membership. I plan to call this week to cancel the membership.

The vouchers all expire May 2003. We are going back for a short trip in June and again for a longer stay next November. Will I be able to sign up again next summer to buy more vouchers, or is it a one time deal?

If I can't, I will have my MIL sign up next summer as they are coming on our Nov trip with us.

Thanks for all your help.

I'm not sure if you could sign up for another trial, but there's no reason your MIL or spouse couldn't. Hope you don't get flamed for asking that question.

From reading these boards it appears quite a few people have signed up for more than 1 trial (or they did one with Connections, then Simple Escapes)... but they have recently changed 'the rules' and will not allow you to sign up for more than 1 trial period. (And Connections/Simple Escapes have joined under DealPass... so you may not be able to try that either).
I believe they track by your address... so your MIL would be able to, but DH might not.

We decided to keep ours... and got the $80 charge right before they decided to limit the vouchers to 40/yr. We were a bit disappointed in that, and may not keep it after our year is over. However, it doesn't look like you can get the vouchers any where else, though... so who knows? I guess it depends on how well we make out with the vouchers on our upcoming trip.

LOL, you CAN do this. How do I know? I called to complain about the new 40 ticket limit for the Q&C vouchers, since it didn't exist when we joined. We have APs, and we only live about 6 hours from WDW, so we visit every 2-3 months (2 week long visits, and shorter weekend stays). Since we have a family of 4, 40 tickets doesn't last all that long for us.

The CSR that I spoke with suggested that I sign up for a second trial membership to get more vouchers. I said thanks, and then I had him refund the rest of my membership fee for this year...

How far along were you into your membership? Cause I honestly JUST got hit with the $80 fee... and if there is anyway I can get them to refund it... I WOULD!!

We were about 5 months into the membership. They will prorate you for each month that you belonged to the program.

If you call Connections and ask for a manager they should be able to waive the 40 limit.

Ugh! It was the manager who came up with the brilliant  idea of opening a second membership. Sounds like some of them have more sense than others...
