Are the connection lunch vouchers good at the Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney? Are they are good value there? Anyone have any experience using them at this restuarant?

thanks,

According to the restaurant list on the back, they are only good at The RC outside AK. We have used them at that one and there was more food than we could eat! They have huge portions.

I have read a lot about people ordering the steak and lobster (also substituting the coconut shrimp for the lobster) with the Connections vouchers. This isn't on the menu. How do you do that? Just ask? Any chance of them refusing? I don't want to look stupid by asking and them saying NO WAY!

What are the "lunch hours" that I can use the vouchers. Do we need to be seated before a certain time - I wanted to eat our main meal later in the day w/ these certificates.

Thanks,

I asked about getting shrimp (the ones wrapped in bacon) with the steak and the server said sure-no problem. I think it is on the menu but it says "add 6 shrimp for $ this much more." or "add crab legs for this price." I also did not see the steak/lobster. That was last November though. We used the voucher around 4:30pm. They said the lunch and dinner menu is the same. You can double check by calling the number on their web site.

RC does not put the surf and turf on the menu. Ask if they have any specials. The server's tip is included in the price of the voucher and every time we have been to RC, the server has bent over backwards to make sure we get the most for our money (and he/she gets a bigger tip).

The day we are planning on going to the RFC to use our vouchers is a non park day. Will we have to pay for parking to visit the restaurant?

Which vouchers are you all referring to? I was planning to order some "Quick and Casual" vouchers after reading info on these boards. Don't recall Rainforest Cafe mentioned. That would be WONDERFUL!

The Vacation Kingdom lunch vouchers are the one for Rainforest Cafe

You would technically have to pay to park at AK. However, depending on what time of day it is, you might not. We notice that there are no parking attendants after 4 at AK.

I also thought that the AK Rainforest did not accept the vouchers and the Downtown Disney was the only one.

Ate lunch at AK RFC just the other day using the $30 lunch voucher. Used one voucher for two people.

Steak and lobster are listed on the menu, which we had. I believe it was "Primal Steak" at 24.99 and right below that on the menu was something like "add 1/2 pound lobster" for 39.99.

We had shrimp cocktail, 9.99, steak and lobster, 39.99, banana somthing for dessert, I think 7.99, and one iced tea which I am guessing was around $2. Total of $72 or $73 with tax & tip.

Also ordered an extra iced tea and cup of coffee which came to around $5. We left $10 for that to give waiter an extra tip.

So basically we got an almost $80 meal for $40.

Also, waiter mentioned you can no longer "upgrade" menu items and that he got in trouble recently for doing so. Also, could not get "Volcano" dessert with only one voucher (it's listed on menu as dessert for two).

Hope I've helped some - any questions, just ask.

PS. Don't think meal was worth $80 but definitely worth $40. RFC is a fun atmosphere but if I were paying $80 for lunch for two, I'd like something a little more upscale.

Thanks for the info on the parking. Our Lunch PS is for the latest available Lunch PS at 4:45 P.M. or so I was told. RFC closes at 6 pm.

The vouchers are good at the AK Location only as it reads on the back of my 2004 voucher.
