I am going to join through MyPoints (you get 200 points plus 2 movie tickets and a dinner - anyone have an info on these freebies??).

We are going to order 5 quick and casual vouchers and a $50 gift card to Planet Hollywood.

How does the reward savings program work for the gift cards?? Would i be able to cancel my membership in 30 days??

How do you cancel your membership??

When I joined last year thru MyPoints, you needed to be an active member at the time that you request you freebies. That would be okay if they sent out the membership packet as soon as you start the trial period but I had to call twice within the 30 days to get it and you need the postcard from the packet to request your freebie. Needless to say, I cancelled without getting the freebie.

If I remember correctly, the savings are added to your account at the end of each month. You must be an active member at the time that the savings are awarded or else you forfeit those rebates.

You can cancel by calling their 1-800 number and simply requesting that they cancel your membership. Sometimes they will give you a hard-sell and may even offer to discount the membership fee for the first year. Just stick to your guns and repeat no, No, NO! and they'll back off. Make sure that you get the name of the customer rep or their operator number in case there is any dispute over whether you cancelled on time or not.
