connection xfinity motorola cable box to samsung smart tv

using RMDI cable

do not get signal
Do you mean HDMI?

Is the TV on the right input? TVs can have 4 (or more) HDMI inputs.
Is there a setting on the cable box to enable HDMI out?
Did you have signals before? Did you change anything?
Have you tried a different HDMI cable?

There is only one HDMI on both box and TV. Talk to comcast and they said 'no problem we'll use the COAX cable'.

One small problem with that. There is only one coax connection on the box. The cable in. I got on youtube and look at a number connection hookupup instructions.
They show a coax in and coax out on the box. Also tried the AV connection.

I was trading in an old unit for a new one. The old one worked.

What is the model number of the TV?

You NOT want to use a coax cable between a cable box and the TV. That's the worst possible picture you can have.

manning, is that an X1 DVR? Whether it is or not, call back until you're satisfied. My cable went wonky the other night.
First tech reset the box. Worked for about six hours.
Second tech reset the box. No change.
Third tech said the problem was the cable and offered three completely unsatisfactory options; I hung up on her.
Fourth tech transferred me to X1 specialist, who reset my box (so no, it wasn't the cable) and performed a bunch of other magic. No more problems
