Hi

I hope this hasn't been discussed before I have tried searching.

We have booked the December 2016 fantasy cruise with connecting staterooms for me, my husband and our 2 kids.

Please could anyone answer my questions.

My husband and I are named on the different rooms so I wondered how it will work booking palo and port adventures?

Also how does it work at dinner, will we be put on the same table as a 4?

With photo packages will we all be able to be on one as a family?

Lastly how does the connecting door work, can we keep it permanentely open?

Thank you in advance

Andrea

If the reservations are linked then when booking palo all the eligible names will come up. They should be linked but check with your TA or DCL if booked direct.

It's easy no issue the names of all adults will come up for both staterooms

Dinner is automatic but you may request a table on your own to be sure.

Photos the same per family. But the photos may come up in the wrong folders.

Connecting doors can be kept open all cruise or closed if you wish it's up to you.

Thank you so much for your quick answer.

Pleased to hear I was panicking over nothing.

Now I can look forward to planning and getting excited

Just did this on the 7/28 disney dream cruise. We had to ask to have our photos merged between the two rooms. That's it. Wasn't hard. Took 10 seconds. Our doors stayed open except during nap time when we closed it almost all the way. We sat at one table.

Are the connecting doors the heavy metal doors? To you need a doorstop to keep them open between rooms? I imagine rough seas would have them swinging.

The connecting doors are typical hotel room doors. You can get a door stop from your room host.

The doors are typically magnetic and stay open without a door stop. They will put you all at the same table for dinner. Maybe with others also unless you request a table for just your family. Reservations online will populate all the names if the reservation is linked together.
Have a fabulous cruise!

We usually have connecting rooms with our kids and haven't had an issue. Used a doorstop from our stateroom host to keep the doors open between the two rooms.

Thank you these comments give me a lot of comfort. We wanted to have the kids in one room and us in the other but I didn't like the idea of the door being shut as my youngest panics sometimes in the night and wouldn't like to be shut in another room. This sounds like it will work fine though.

Thank you all again

I agree with this good post.

Yep. They are not like hotel room doors, they're heavier and magnetic. Door stops are used by the root stewards to keep your hallway door open while they're working in your room, but you do not need them for connecting doors. Easy to open, keep open, and close. Not a huge opening, but plenty to get through.
