Connecting stateroom doors single or double?

Hello,
We're leaving 3/6 on the WBPC cruise (Disney Wonder), traveling on Deck 6 in connecting staterooms. My question concerns the connecting door(s) - is it a single door between the two rooms, or double doors similar to most hotels, where you open the door on your side only to be confronted with either an open or closed door on the other? Trying to figure out how best to signal when we're open to receiving visitors versus when we're trying to sleep, and with connecting rooms AND connecting verandahs, it occurs that privacy might be hard to come by. If there's no way to hang a sign between the doors, seems we'll be stuck keeping the curtains tightly drawn and hoping no one knocks at the crack of dawn.

Any insight as to how people have approached this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

There are double doors between the rooms, but there's just one divider that opens on the verandah. The divider on the verandah isn't something that you would open and close yourself. It is opened by the stateroom host and remains open until you request it be closed. Maybe request that your traveling companions not come onto your balcony without an invitation. You could hang a sign on the connecting door to your room equivalent to a "visitors welcome" or "do not disturb". The doors are metal so magnets would work.

Thank you very much, this is what I was looking for. We're all family, so whatever happens will be just fine, but we'll be going through time zone adjustment they won't, not to mention they're young and so much more energetic, at least in body. Thanks again, and happy cruising!

I bought little white boards to hand between our connecting doors. You could use post it notes, though. Then you can do a "Come in" or "sleeping" or "gone to movies/pool, etc", as well.

Now that I think of it, you could just have a few premade magnets with notes like that on them, too.

Or even more simple - if the door is closed = don’t bother me. If the door is open = ready for visitors. You are under no obligation to open the divider in the balcony so you can keep that private at all times if you wish.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t remember there being door handles on the back of the connecting doors so if the other room’s door is closed, you won’t be able to open it. I think I remember having to knock and wait for our kids to open it more than once.

I have travelled with another party in a connecting room only once, but I'm sure the doors need to be opened on both sides to be useable. Otherwise, someone who is not travelleing with the party next door would be able to open the door to the other room, and I'm sure that's not allowed.

we bring a magnetic dry erase board to put on the connecting door. That way when our kids that are in the next room open their door, there is a note written there that tells them we are sleeping or where we are on the ship if they were sleeping in.
