Connecting rooms?

Well I couldn't wait till DH got home & called him at work. He says were walking out if there not connected. :scared1:  :worried:

(Funny... I'm looking thru the smilies & I could've used half of them the way I'm feeling right now)

By the way, walking out is NOT the answer I wanted to hear.

Should I just go back to the original plan with all of us in one room at GF?

We've stayed at POR 3 times and each time we asked and received connecting rooms. We're staying there again in June and have also requested it and our confirmation states "guaranteed connecting rooms for families". Stick with POR, it's a wonderful resort!!

:crazy2: Okay - calm down, everything will be fine! Just keep repeating "I'm going back to Disney". Then call back CRO, if you don't get a nice, calm CM hang up and call back. I think if you explain your situation to them they will be able to help get the rooms you need. If not, life isn't so bad at the GF!

Every CM I have talked to SINCE my trip last week said the connecting door SHOULD have been a guarantee, and in fact it was, verbally. Just all the people I asked to double-check that detail (must have been getting psychic vibes, lol) must have just paid me lip service, and never actually let their fingers do the walking, I suppose.

I will certainly never trust the promise of connecting doors again, going to have to try cabins or hold onto the suites when I book them!

Beth

Did it say on you confirmation guaranteed connecting?

Well I guess I got my point across that I'm freaking out. I am just so sick of changing resort plans & want to move on to planning PS's. We went from BC deluxe to POLYCL back to BC then to GF and now 2 at POR. I'm telling you, I never spend this kind of time planning a vacation anywhere else. What is it with Disney vacations that everything has to be as perfect as possible?

Hey...a new thread!

I don't have the papers in front of me, but I KNOW I saw Connecting Rooms on there, and Special Needs reservation, also. Just hope I can find that paper if WDW insists I show it, otherwise I am stuck demanding that they research and pull the calls. Calls are SOMETIMES monitored but almost always recorded. That would put the odds in there, that most of my telephone confirmations (and there were MANY times I re-checked, lol) would be recorded and findable.

Hope you find it... Disney should shower you in pixie dust!

The only way the resorts will absolutely guarantee connecting rooms if there is only "one" adult in the group. If there are 2 adults and they have to put you in rooms that are not connecting, they simply assume the other adult will go in the other room.

CRO might tell you different, but then we all know they are famous for stating something the resorts will not do.

They will try very hard to give you connecting rooms for families but it is not certain.

Sorry for sort of taking over this thread, lol...just thought an update might be in order. I just spoke with Emily at CRO, who could not access my ressie (since it is over already) but she asked what happened. Started telling her, she jumped in, put me on hold, called Guest Svcs who COULD access my former ressie. My phone disconnected and would not come back on for 10 minutes, but when it did, she had left me THREE messages...the last one directing me on what to write down, the name and locatioin of who had given her this info, and the fact that it was very clearly notated in every available location in my room ressies the words "Guaranteed Connecting Rooms"

WHAT A GEM SHE IS!! She stated that she hopes this will give me the info I need, she hopes I get some sort of compensation, and that we will not let this sour us to WDW and that we would give them another chance.

Now to await the email reply from Guest Communications, lol.

I would. I think the GF is the ultimate resort. The daybed is quite comfy and it really will be a luxury, which you need after all this stress! Plus you won't have to worry about those connecting rooms. POR is nice for a moderate, but you I believe with 5 you will have to stay in the bayou section and not the mansions.

We stayed at the Contemporary on our spring break trip (couldn't afford GF), but went over to GF on a few times. The lobby is more formal, but I saw plenty of kids. They even have two little waiting areas with kid size chairs, tables, and a tv showing cartoons. There may have been crayons there too. The pool looked fun and they have such a nice beach area. We liked the food court at GF better than the one at the CR.
The best part of GF is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. You can take a short boat ride to and from MK, and the park is the first stop when you get on the GF monorail. GO FOR IT!

Yeah....I'm going to have to change this. I REALLY don't like the AB section. With my luck I'll get stuck there & no connecting rooms too!

As a follow-up to this. I had switched to 2 rooms at POR & CRO told me they would be guaranteed connecting.

I received my new confirmation today & guess what...It states prefer connecting rooms/not guaranteed :confused3

I calling right now to switch back to GF. I've had enough of this.
