Connecting DVD Player

The hotel I am staying in has in-room TV service provided by Lodgenet and RCA TV. I am trying to connect my portable DVD player so the kids can watch 'Nemo'. I have all the right wires to connect to the red/white/yellow RCA jacks, but, can't find a way to switch the TV to Video or Monitor mode to be able to watch the DVD (it's not quite the same on the 5 inch screen on the DVD player) Any ideas....greatly appreciate your thoughts.

Simple answer -- ask the hotel front desk.

If it is a large enough hotel and the person at the desk cannot assist they will have someone from Engineering on duty at all times and that person should be able to help you.

Have you tried the tv/video button on the tv's remote? If there is one there that should solve your problem

Cheshire....my plan of last resort...I suspect the reason it is 'difficult' is they prefer for you to pay for the movies they offer! I'll have to ask first thing in the AM!

Slightly Goofy...that's the problem, there is no TV/Video button...everything is pretty 'hard-wired' to their pay service.

sometimes pressing "0" will switch the TV to aux-input mode.

Seems to me they don't want you to do this, otherwise the remote would have the required button to switch.

Ooops, I didn't realize you have RCA TV. Certain RCA models require you to enter "99" to switch to "aux/video in"

BEhappy, so sorry my hint did not help. Seems that most motel remotes are very lacking in anything but the most basic buttons for fear that we might be tempted to take home home with us. The ones that drive me up the wall are the ones who only have and up or down button so you have to scroll through dozens of channels to get to what you want.
