I have some questions...I am watching Ripley's believe it or not and they have the conjoined women on there and they are talking about their lives.... The one women is in a long term relationship and when she does go out on a date with this gentleman her sister is "there in body but that is about it".. but she wants to get married and have kids, so how would that work? Also what happens if God forbid something happened to the other one and they passed away what would happen then? They were talking about jobs and the one worked int he hospital and then she quit her job to that her sister could persue her career in music.... I guess I am just to curious...

I always wondered that as well. There was the one set that were joined at the head and they were facing in opposite directions. When they went to the movies one would get to face the screen and the other would need to bring along a mirror to watch the movie.

It must be a hard life, but I guess they find ways to adjust.

There was a show on TLC, a special, about the young girls, I think their names were Britney and Abby and they were joined right down the middle. They seemed like normal teenagers, but I don't know how the dating thing would work. There were some things they didn't want to talk about.

Yes, those young ladies are amazing! I saw the special too. Each girl controls half of their body & they've figured out how to work together to walk, drive & everything! They're wonderful girls & I believe they're headed to college soon. I wish them the best!

I remember reading in the Guiness Book of World Records that there was a set of male conjoined twins who lived into their 80's. They both married and one had TEN children and one had TWELVE children. It boggles the mind, doesn't it?

I thought I read somewhere that if one dies, the other dies shortly thereafter because they share some common systems. I guess it would depend on where they are connected and what all they share.

If one dies, the other will likely die within hours as they often share major organs.

The older men were the original "siamese" conjoined twis, Cheng & Eng. They did marry, have seperate houses and fathered some insane amount of kids in the early 20th century. They spent every other day at the others house. They died in bed, hours apart. They think one of them had a heart attack from fright when he saw his dead brother. :(

It was also said that with today's technology Chang and Eng could have been seperated very easily. Apparently they shared a thick band of skin with blood vessels but no major organs.

Thank you for all your information... I am glad to see that I am not the only one who wonders this..BTW they are the older women who are joined at the head and face opposite directions
