Congress Park Rehab

We are at SSR in the Congress Park sectiion right now and noticed yesterday that there was some rehab going on here. Several trucks were in the lot and from what we saw they were changing out the mattresses and living room chairs. Not sure what else is being done. Also, the bus stop is closed as they are redoing the concrete work around it. A temporary stop is set up in the lot behind the regular stop.

There is a soft good renovation in process at SSR. I believe it began with Congress Park and will be completed by 2013. It's even in the new Disney Files Magazine for the Summer of 2012 on page 7. Thanks for the information about the bus stop. I hadn't heard about that.

Oh man...I have a request for Congress Park...we check in June 18th... should I change my request??? Any word on how long the bus stop will be closed?

I wouldn't change your room request. There is still a bus stop at Congress Park. It is just in the parking lot behind the usual stop. There are three tents put together for shade and some benches are also there. They have removed the concrete street in front of the bus stop and they appear to be close to the point where they will pour the new concrete. There is a good chance it will be open by the time you arrive.

Temporary bus stop is not a problem. They have dug up the road in front of the stop itself. Hopefully it will be done, shiny and new soon.

Our room (1101) had not been refurbed but they were doing work there last week. Replacing drapes. Chairs. Sofas. Bedding including mattresses. It will be very nice when finished.

There was some sort of repair going on in the room above us as hammering and moving stuff started at 9am. This probably was not part of the rehab as they are concentrating on the building next to us and that entire building is closed. Not sure what was going on above us, but when you stay out until 2 am, the hammering comes pretty early in the morning for us!
