While pretending to be paying attention in chat tonight. . ;) :teeth: . . I watched the Mavs win game 7 of their series with the Sacramento Kings. .

They move on to play the San Antonio Spurs in the conference finals. . not only are they high-scoring, fun team to watch, after seeing the Tampa Bay Bucs and the Angels win championships, I think this may just be the year for formally hopeless teams to come through and win it all, so I'm betting on the Mavs to go all the way. . . :)

With the Lakers out, there's really no favorite to win it all; and it should be a interesting and entertaining "final four" in the NBA this year. . :)

I was shopping and missed chat, WillyJ. I can't imagine that you one of the Saturday night champion chat hosts would pretend to pay attention in chat. :teeth:

Okay Kath, ya got me. . . I admit I watched the game and didn't even really pretend to pay attention in chat. . ;) :teeth:

Seriously though, I was being good and fullfilling my chat duties until one of the other posters commented on the strange and disturbing hair-style of some woman on "Trading Spaces" so of course I had to turn on the TV and see what she was talking about it. . .

Then of course everyone turned it on, and we spent the rest of chat making fun of the people on the show. . . so another fun and sucessful Saturday Night Chat it was!! ;)

Yes, go Mavs! But San Antonio will probably be tough. They destroyed the Lakers after all.

Disnee Dad Says..............................Losing Webber in the second game killed us. After game six several of my friends were upbeat and asked me what I thought. I told them it doesn't look good.
I was so much into the flow of the last couple games I could tell you before something happened that it would happen.
Over the last two games, there were 17 shots that I said the kings had to make, to continue a rally, or stop a charge, to get back in the game. They hit 5. Mostly in game six. On the other hand, in the same two games, there were 15 shots that Dallas had to miss to keep a streak going, or to help Sac. momentom, and they hit 10 or 11.
Every Dallas run scored twice to the Kings runs
So Dallas wins, and I will cheer them on even if I like San Antonio, because they play real basketball. They don't sit on the clock for 20 seconds while the rest of the team punches each other. I f it was all Eastern Conference teams in the finals you'd see scores like 65-57.
The Tony Parker story is playing large, but I go for the underdog, meaning Dallas, cause basketball is about scoring points, unlike the east coast that equates basketball with soccer, no one score.

It's funny how things work in a cyclical fashion. In the 80s it was the same way, the west played a run & gun, fun to watch game. The east on the other hand played a boring (IMO) half court game & if they cracked triple digits in the score, it meant that the game had gone into multiple overtimes.

I'm glad to see the Mavs doing so well & I'm pulling for them since the Lakers got knocked out. A few years ago you couldn't even give Mavs tickets away.

And speaking of formally hopeless teams - the Ducks are looking like they very well may skate the Cup this year.

I'll be rooting for the Mavs over the spurs. I think it is great to see them get this far. I remember the last time two Texas teams played for the Western Conference and Hakeem took David Robinson to school. Hope the Mavs have the same kind of luck.
