Congratulations to the 2010 DIS Unplugged Fantasy Football champion, klam_chowder and her team Big Thunder Mtn Railroad!
klam took the 4th seed in the Magic Kingdom Conference with a 7-6 record and beat both the #1 (2009 champs No Clue Crew) and #2 (Jungle Cruise Skippers) seeds, along with #5 Everest Yetis to reach the championship match.
Big Thunder met stitchlover and her team, Mr. Toad Rides Again, who reached the championship over the backs of #3 The Fins, #2 Pluto's Revenge and #4 Carousel of Doom.
The championship match was the closest yet, with Big Thunder beating the Toads by just TWO POINTS, 113-111, with a strong performance all around from her team and despite the Toads having Arian Foster, who had 31 points.
The championship match is a tough one, because it takes place between two teams in different leagues, so there can be some duplication of players, and during the NFL's Week 17, where it's anyone's guess which star players are playing that week. Both teams made effective choices, but unfortunately for the Toads LeSean McCoy was an unexpected late scratch and because the lineups are locked in before the first game starts, in the end that made the difference.
Already looking forward to next year...only 7 months away! Well, 6 months for me to start getting the Donalds in a row...
