Excuse my ignorance (I'm a newbie). But I'm confused about admission to Typhoon Lagoon. Do you need to pay for park (Magic Kingdom) admission AND Typhoon Lagoon? If you only wanted to go to the water park one day you'd only need to pay for admission to Typhoon Lagoon, correct?

That's right, John. The water parks are considered the "minor" parks. They have their own (lower than the theme parks) admission. You don't lose a day of theme park admission when you go to the water park. (or vice versa). Have a great day!

Hi JohnMcLane and welcome to the Canadian DIS boards! Please don't hesitate to ask ANY question you may have, that's how we all learn from each other. :)

No, you do not have to pay for park admission (MK etc.) in order to go to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. It is an entirely separate ticket. If you have a park ticket with "options" on it that you want to use for a water park, you do not have to go into a park (MK etc.) first for that either. The option is used separately from park admission. HTH!

 Hi John ... Welcome to the DIS ! We're always happy to help, and love to know when our friends are visiting WDW, 'cause we all live vicariously through each other!

For two or more admissions to water parks, Disney Quest, Pleasure Island in any combination, repetition, or order, buy the Plus Pack for your theme park ticket and it costs USD $48.

Typhoon Lagoon during the day, Pleasure Island at night, no other places visited -- consumes zero days and two plusses. You don't need the Hopping Option.

For just one visit on one day in your vacation, buy a separate admission ticket at the (Typhoon Lagoon, etc.) gate.
