DBF and I are going to WDW for 15 nights/16 days in 2010 and we're going to buy 14 Day Ultimate tickets. What I'd like to know is, will they expire exactly two weeks after we check in, or is it the case that the 14 days don't have to be used up consecutively? The reason I ask is because I don't want to have two days where we couldn't go into a park. We're planning on going to Universal and to the malls etc, so we'll have days where we're not in Disney, it just annoys me to think that we're 'wasting' potential time in the parks. Could anyone please advise? Thanks!

As far as I know it expires exactly 2 weeks after activation!

The US Magic Your Way tickets do the same. For example, I've got 10 Day MYW tickets for 2010 and I can use any 10 days out of the 14 so it doesn't have to be consecutive! The only other thing I could suggest is the MYW Non Expiry but again 10 days is the maximum!

Thanks for the reply! Hmm, if the 14 days have to be used consecutively I'm thinking it might be more straightforward to buy the 21 day tickets for the extra £25 each. In the grand scheme of things, it's not a great deal more!!

When we went in October for 17 days we bought the 21 day Ultimate tickets. We thought the same way as you in that the difference in price wasn't that much and we wanted the flexibility to be able to do a Disney park on our last day and our first day.

They expire 14 days after 1st use. So if go to a park on your first morning they will expire on your last full day ie the day before you fly home.

Personally we never do a park the first evening so we would be paying £25 for 1 extra day.

Are you doing any other parks that you could do that first day instead?

When don't have AP that is what we buy, together withthe flex ticket. Then we hop around all 7 parks in the area right through the holiday. If you are just doing Disney the 21 day ticket would be ok.

In August we bought 21 day tickets. We used them for 11 days before the cruise(7 days) then 3 days after, cheaper than buying a 14 day ticket then another ticket (even for 1 day) after the cruise.
Worked OK for that holiday but if I had your length of stay I would stick to the 14 days and not go into Disney for the 1st 2 days. I would do Universal and or another park in the 1st 2 days.

Just like Wayne said, we are there for 18 days but plan to start using the 14 day ticket on day 3; first two days shopping, swim, DTD or maybe BG

Yep.
We're gonna be there for 15 nights in August, and have bought the 14 day pass.
We arrive on the 5th but don't check into SSR until the 6th so I'm hopefully gonna book a Universal hotel for the first night and get their parks 'out of the way'.

Or if I forget, we'll be sleeping in the car :rotfl:

Thanks for all the advice everyone, much appreciated. :goodvibes

I was thinking of doing the same as you Luke, i.e. staying at Universal for the first night. However, we're not driving so it's much easier for us to catch the ME from the airport straight to WDW on the first day. I can't imagine being at WDW and not having the option to visit a park, so it looks like we're going to have to fork out for the 21-day tickets. As Kenny said, we'd like to do a park on our first and last day.

You can still use ME and stay in Disney hotel just don't activate your ticket so it expires on your last day but if you want to do 1st and last day you have no choice you need the 21 day tix. We like to end in Disney but not bothered about 1st few days, in August we were there 4 days before we went into Disney.

I know but I just know I'd be there thinking "grr, I'd love to go to a park right now"! I don't fancy the option of not being able to. Besides, it's becoming somewhat of a tradition for me to go to a park as soon as I've checked in: last year my friend and I managed to stay at MK until 2am and this year DBF made it to 12am in Epcot! :rotfl:

Well, I had a change of heart and booked a package with the 14 Day Ultimate tickets. Admittedly, I was spurred on by the 14 days for 7 offer! On our arrival day, we'll probably have some pool time and go for a meal in the evening. We'll activate our tickets on the second day and on our last day we will probably go to Downtown Disney or maybe try out one of the mini golf courses for the first time! :thumbsup2

I'm happy with my decision and we can't wait for our holiday! Check out my new ticker...
