Confusion on Fantasmic Dinner Package

Can you still eat at sci-fi or 50's PTC before Fantasmic? I guess I am confused about the Fantasmic Dinner Package. I don't care about getting in early, as I have a 13 month old and we will most likely be sitting at the very top so we can make a mad dash if she gets scared. I would like to eat at Sci-Fi before Fantasmic though. Can I still do that or are they closed so to make everyone book the package?

Restaurants for Fantasmic are Hollywood and Vine (Buffet), Hollywood Brown Derby (sit down) and Mama Melroses (Sit down)

I have heard at extremely busy times (holidays etc) they have included primetime cafe - but I have only heard 2 or three people say they dined here for fantasmic and it was months ago.

Good plan sitting near the rear with your little one - but I think he will be fine, it's a great show - if you don't want the reserved Fantasmic seating - you can eat anywhere before the show but you have to arrive early to get seats, sometimes there is standing room only.

You can eat anywhere--the restaurants are all open. You will just have to enter at the main entrance for Fantasmic that's all!!

Thanks Karen, that's what I was looking for. The past 3 times we have gone, we didn't eat anywhere and we had wonderful seats. We never had to wait in line either. That's the great thing about going in December.

Just had to say that I'm also "Athena's Mommy" - my daughter is 3.5 yrs and will be her first time, too, at WDW in August!!!
