I'm just a little confused. (Okay, maybe more than a little, but that's a whole other topic, lol)
ANYWAY, here is a sticky from the Camping at Disney World forum:

IMPORTANT: New policy regarding politics and religion

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have worked hard to keep the DISboards a place where people can discuss any topic as long as it's not illegal or profane, and as long as the participants can behave respectfully. Unfortunately, politics and religion often seem to bring out the worst behavior in people. Even normally polite posters find these topics pushing their hot buttons, and frequently lose their cool.

This past election season has been especially bad, and the rudeness and sniping between various groups has alienated posters and exhausted our moderators.

As a result, we are announcing a new policy on the DISboards, effective immediately: POLITICS AND RELIGION are no longer acceptable topics of discussion here.

This also will extend to signatures: no political statements, logos, or slogans are permitted in signatures.

Posts and threads of a political or religious nature will be locked or deleted, and are not to be restarted. We will also be updating our site guidelines to reflect this policy.

There are many sites on the web that welcome discussion and debate of a political or religious nature, but we feel that removing these topics from the DISboards altogether is in the best interests of our members. Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Now, if this is the case, why then, is there a banner scrolling at the top of my screen that is relative to the special election happening here in Massachusetts today? The banner is from the Citizens for Strength and Security, and it say's something to the effect of "Scott Brown's Obstructionism" or "President Obama's agenda for Change".

I thought politics and religion were not allowed???
:confused3

Maybe it's just on your computer because you live in Mass. These banner ads can read our location and our search histories. My banner ad is for Weight Watchers....so somehow the evil banner ad people are on to something! :scared1: They know who we are and what we need!

Guess I need to get rid of my cookies. The ones on my hard drive AND the ones in my kitchen. :rotfl2:

I would ask this in the Technical Support Forum for DisBoards in general:

http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=43

The politics and religion ban is really supposed to be site wide and is not specifically intended just for the camping forum, although it is a sticky at the top of the forum for camping anyway.:thumbsup2

Sometimes posters get a little too fired up off topic, after all this board is for Disney posts, not political or religious opinions. Unless of course it's Mickey for President or the CoFWF's (Cult of Fort Wilderness Fiends):rotfl2:

OOOooooo, great question Karla ! :thumbsup2 I think you should ask the Technical Support Forum like ElementCamper suggested.

And what I wanna know is when I'm talking about fishing,,NOTHING on fishing ever scrolls at the top in the adds ?!?!?!

Anyways, soon as you talk to the proper people, let us know about it.
But off hand I'm gonna guess the owners of Dis did not vote for McCain,,BUT THATS JUST MY GUESS !

Because DU makes money off those banner ads. Principle only hold true until it costs you money.

I got a scott brown ad on every one of the sites I visited around election day. My Google page, my facebook pages....everything. I think anyone can buy an ad and his political machine apparently did that and obviously, all the money he spent paid off.

America - what a country! Not wishing to be political, but is there a politician in office today who DIDN'T get there by spending a ton of money?

Who likes beer?
