I just called to make reservations at the BB and asked them when the POTC refurb was going on and they said that they had NO information on the ride being shut down any time soon!

I'm sooooo confused! When is POTC being shut down? Does anyone know?!?!?

Disney won't confirm any info about rehabs until it's official... There are plenty of rumors circulating the internet about rehabs at any given time, and many times these are accurate, but you won't get info from Disney until very late in the game. It isn't rare that restaurants will take reservations and then call back to cancel if the location if affected by a rehab.

Disney had stated not long ago it was to be Feb.15 th - March 20th. They just should have kept it that way, instead of confusing people all over again, as to when this refurbishment would take place. This is just so ridiculous in my opinion, really!

MAKE UP YOUR MINDS DISNEY CORPORATE! or get off of the pot.

LOL I would imagine there are lots of factors that go into when exactly work can be done on various projects. Sometimes things change. If it's not on the calendar, I would not pay attention to rumors and just make plans. If you had never heard that it "might" be going down, you wouldn't be worried about it to begin with. :goodvibes

Just how I plan,

If that is true that would suck i would only have 2 possible days to ride POTC lets hope it is open the whole time *** i think it may be easier to ride it on a thursday than a saturday or sunday

Damn... I hadn't even thought that the BB would be shut during the POTC refurb... :lmao: I was looking forward to eating there again when we come in May... Oh well, here's hoping that it's open again by then...

The thing about Disney Dining is that they are not in the parks and don't know much at all. They don't even know the ins and outs of character dining. Such as...Storytellers stops serving from the menu at the same time as the last seating for breakfast. So if you've been yearning for huevos rancheros from their menu, when you get there and the hostess gives you the info that you cannot order from the menu, you will be disappointed. And then the server tells you that Chip and Dale leave about 1 hour BEFORE that last seating, and they always do, so the "hosts" of that breakfast aren't even there for the last good portion of time...well again you might be disappointed.

The hostess was sure to tell us about the menu, because she knew that Dining doesn't know or remember it, and she wanted to give us at least 10 minutes of head's up before we were seated.

Disney Dining doesn't know everything, not even about the restaurants you'd think they would know about. :confused3

Actually, Pirates is just not a difficult ride to get on at all. It loads fast and the wait is covered (mostly) and with interesting things to look at. You will be just fine with 2 days to ride.

They should just leave BB open and run some dummy boats past.

I have asked MANY different CM everytime I have called for dining, and such. All have said no POTC is NOT listed on their print out they got New Years day for Feb, or Mar. They asked where I got the info, and I said DL calender. One CM very nice got her supervisor and they called down to BB and was told there have been no mention of the refurb, and BB would need to know because they don't open during refurb. The CM said BB is fully open, and potc is as well.

Umm... it's not even scheduled to be closed (short of rumor). Why worry about it being open "again"? It's open now. It's not on the refurb schedule. Until (if) it shows up, I wouldn't even think about it.
