confused

Kinda confused, going on first wdw trip this Dec. if the calendar for mk says the hours for a particular day are 8 am - 12 am and they say there are extra magic hours that day- is 8am the extra morning hour and 12am the extra evening hour ? or does it mean that the park actually opens at 7 am and closes later than 12 am? help? maybe this is a stupid question.

The listed hours 8-12 are the normal park hours. The EMH would then mean 7a.m.

As far as I know, the hours published on the website are the hours for the general public, then there are EMH which is one hour earlier or up to three hours later for resort guests.
