Confused with Cruise

We are going to use points to go on a 3 night cruise in Feb 2007. I thought I would not be able to book until the 7 month window?? I am confused because I logged into the DVC website today and it said:

Currently, you may request a reservation for a Disney Cruise Line® vacation that has a sail date on or before March 23, 2008.

Can I book this trip now?

You can book with cash for what ever time they decide. Over the past few years it's seemed to be generally in the 18 month range on average but it's an accordion affect. They open up 6 months or so then it sits there for the same available months for a while. You can book with points 11 months out. As I'm told you can only get the member discount for cruises within 14 months or a current sailing.

I was confused by the same message I just saw when I logged into My DVC. It sounds like we can now book via points 24 months in advance! I also saw another 24 months in advance reference in the Intro to this summer's Meditteranean cruise detail:

To book these Mediterranean cruises in Europe up to 24 months in advance, call Member Services beginning April 4, 2006 at (800) ********.

Too bad it is the weekend or else I'd call MS to ask if the policy has changed re how far in advance we could book with our points.

All reservations using points - EXCEPT at non-home DVC resorts - may be reserved 11 months in advance. This includes our home resort, Disney Collection, Concierge Collection and Adventure Collection for the 11 month priority. In addition, some special offerings - like the Med Cruise - may have a different unique reservation window.
