Confused w/ Rider swap

I have another question regarding rider swap. The return ticket is good for 3 people. Does this count kids under 3? I would assume it does. However, since you are not able to make a FP+ for kids under 3, it reduces the number of FP+ reservations available for your entire party even though kids under 3 can ride FEA.
In order to have a rider swap someone need to be too small to ride of a ride has no hight requirement then there is no rider swap. Kids under 3 do not need a FP I do not think FEA has rider swap since there is no hight requirement there should be no rider swap

Sorry, hijacking this thread, but does anyone know if they do rider swap passes during EMH?
if the line is longer then 10 minutes then then they do some times give it out I have seen this done at 7 DMT and space, so I would ask the CM the worst they can do is say no,

I have a more confusing situation I think. We have 3 adults and 1 2.5 yr old. We all want to ride Frozen Ever After. FEA offers rider switch. However, there are no height restrictions. If I book 1 FP+ for 1 Adult, can we go up and request a rider switch (with the whole party present)? This, in essence would give us 3 additional FP+ that we could, conceivably, use right then. That would allow all 4 to ride at once with 1 FP+.

Anybody see anything wrong with my interpretation/logic/understanding here?
I could be wrong but I don't believe FEA even offers a Rider Swap. It's only for rides with height restrictions. Where did you see that it has Rider Swap?

That list is incorrect because it does not even mention Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, so I'm not sure of the validity of it. I personally have never heard of FEA having Rider Swap but I could be wrong. @hiroMYhero can you verify if FEA has Rider Swap?
I'm not sure if anyone has confirmed Swapping at FEA but it is offered. Perhaps because they don't allow sleeping children on the ride?

This is interesting and definitely the reason for my confusion. If somebody could confirm that it exists or not, that would be great.

Hi,

It may have been asked before.. but I am poor searching skills.
Before I begin, sorry and thank you.

We stay in the resort - 13 nights and 14 days, but the first and the last day are mainly for travel. Currently we have 8 day park pass.
We can only book 8 days' FP+, right?
So that means, we have to select 8 days and select FP+, not 14 days of my stay, right?
If I change 8 days to 7 days, then do I lose all my FP+ choices, or can I just drop 1 park of my choice?

Also, is there penalty for not using FP+?

As for child swap, if we go on, say FEA, can we ask for child swap and have my DH go with my child and I go with her again? (so she rides it twice - once with Dad, once with Mom) She is under 3, kind of on the short side, so she won't be able to go on any other rides that allows Child swap. (unless I don't know the complete list - I went to DisneyWorld website)

Also for FP+, can we use the same tactic and say we go on Dumbo, have my DD go with me and have her go with my DH? If yes, then can we all line-up together? Or do we need to exit completely and re-enter with other parent?

Thank you.

If I am understanding this correctly you can make FP for 2 adults to ride Soarin and then get the rider swap for the other 2 adults. Just make sure that the whole party is present to request the rider swap. Then the 2 adults that hang out with the kids can take the kids on like Living with the Land or Nemo while the other adults go on Soarin. Both of those rides are pretty close to Soarin. You can either get FPs for those rides or you can just stand by them if you want to. I don't think those rides usually have long stand by times.

Hi I am little confused by reading this and I wonder if you can help.
We (2 adults and a 2.5 yr old child) want to do rider swap. Since there is only 2 of us, one of us has to stay with DD.

I am not sure if my interpretation is correct. All of us go and request the rider swap (BTW, where do we do that? At the beginning of the line or at the end?) and say my DH goes on it first, then he comes back to me - wherever I am with my DD or do I have to wait in line with him? If I can be wherever, can I go on different ride with my DD? - and he gives me something called Rider Swap paper/card, I bring it to the line and skip the line?
So if he has FP+ for this ride - just him, not me -, then he won't wait too long, and I skip the line?
For example, he can get Soarin FP for 10AM, he goes as FP+, I go as Rider Swap, and I get FP for Soarin for 12PM, I go as FP+ and he goes as Rider Swap??

1. Correct.

2. Correct.

3. I don't know exactly how it works, but I would assume you just lose one day of FPs.

4. Longer lines. ;)

5. Child swap is only offered for rides that have a height requirement, which FEA does not. Plus, the reason for it is so that both parents can ride with minimal waits, not so that a child can ride twice.

6. See number 5.

The rider swap works so that a parent/ adult can wait outside the attraction with the child whom is not tall enough to ride. Those riding, go through the FP or standby line (you have FP so go through that line) and they ride and when they return you enter through the fp, but you do not need to book as FP+ for the group using the rider swap. What you need to do is very important. When the first riders go through to ride have the party there so the CM can see the non rider and ask the CM for a rider swap. They will hand you a legacy FP that says rider swap. This is used to have those waiting outside to ride. It is good for 3 people MAX, so theoretically your DS10 can ride twice. Once with you and then again with your MIL and Husband.

But make sure the whole party is there and ask for the rider swap. With any E ticket rides with rider swap that is standard practice to need to see the non rider before issuing a rider swap. And to save headache make sure they ask for it at the first FP touchpont outside the attraction because that is where you get it and no other CMs carry them.
Here is the 2nd post in this thread:

Thank you for the reply.
But I was told that FEA is one of the rider swap from Disney website? Anyways.
As for #6, since my DD doesn't need FP+, we can take her one of us each, right?

Also, I read from other thread that you can do FP+ and Rider Swap for adults (the ones that my DD can't ride.)

According to a TR (for a very recent trip) FEA does have Rider Swap but it is true that it is not so a child can ride twice. Which is why I'm a tad confused as to why it has a Rider Swap.

At 10am you Hubby and DD approach the FP+ line at Soarin'. You ask for a Rider Swap card, hubby is either given the card then or a lanyard and will get a card soon, you and DD go and ride Livin' with the Land (you CANNOT enter the line as your DD is too short to ride) once Hubby is done he meets you and your DD near Livin' with the Land and hands you a paper card that says "Rider Swap" you bring that card to the CM at the FP+ line and they allow you to enter and ride while Hubby entertains your DD.

If I was you what I would do is get your FP+ for Test Track and repeat the process there so that you can both ride these Tier 1 attractions. I cannot help with your FEA questions as I have not been since it opened.

Perfect! Thank you so much! I understand it very well now.
I wonder, for example for 7 Dwarf Mine Train, if my DD is tall-enough to ride the attraction, then no 'Rider Swap' is issued, right? (FYI, she's not)

Rider Swap is to minimize waiting so that parents can both ride attractions their child(ren) cannot thus if she WAS tall enough to ride you would NOT be issued a swap pass.
