Confused Over Dining Plan-Sharing Meals

Here is my situation/dilema/question...We are thinking of buying the Dining Plan (1QS/1TS). My family is 4 adults plus 2 children who will count for adults and 1 child. Both questions are related to each other, but I just need clarification.

1. My dd who is considered an adult is the lightest eater ever, there is no why that she could eat an adult sized portion, but she is loves to try new food. Could she and her younger brother (child) split a meal and save the TS credit for later as long as we are not at a buffet?

2. My 5 year old...does he have to order a meal at a TS restaurant or can he split a meal too at a non buffet location? From what I am reading on the brochure, it sounds like he has to order a meal and cannot share from an adult plate.

Most people have not had a problem sharing a meal at non-buffets. My family has not either. Unless you are drinking water you will need to buy separate drinks though.

Save those credits and use them for other meals or signature dining.

Yes, your children can split and eat however they like. Your "Disney Adult" older child can even eat off the kids menu at non-buffets and you can save her credit to "pay" for adult meals elsewhere. I don't see too much of an advantage of having the 5-year old share, though unless you are saving his credit for a buffet meal.

As was said, your children should be able to split a meal with no issue.

Just as a warning though. From how I read it, you will have kids credits left over. These can only be used by the kids. As such, you will have more of those credits left then adult credits later on.

That's true. The unused credits for the OP's son cannot be used for the parents or the older daughter who is a "Disney Adult". The daughter's credits, however, can be used for anyone 10 and over. My 11-year old DD not only eats like a bird, but she's also a vegetarian. So, many times on our last trip she would order from the kid's menu and we would "pocket" the extra TS credit to use at a more expensive buffet.
