Confused on Date Specific Tickets

My head is hurting. Date specific tickets just don't want to compute in my head.
We're taking a trip to WDW Dec12 thru the 27th (15 days total) . We want to get 7 day park tickets.

From what I've been reading. If we pick our first park day as the 13th. This means the last day we can use our tickets would be by the 22nd? I'm taking this information from this forum as listed below:

Ticket Duration Valid Use Period
1-Day Ticket valid one day on the date selected (Next day can be used for “+ Option” with a PH+ ticket)
2-Day Ticket Any 2 days within 4 days beginning on start date (5 days with PH+)
3-Day Ticket Any 3 days within 5 days beginning on the start date (6 days with PH+)
4-Day Ticket Any 4 days within 7 days beginning on the start date (8 days with PH+)
5-Day Ticket Any 5 days within 8 days beginning on the start date (9 days with PH+)
6-Day Ticket Any 6 days within 9 days beginning on the start date (10 days with PH+)
7-Day Ticket Any 7 days within 10 days beginning on the start date (11 days with PH+)
8-Day Ticket Any 8 days within 12 days beginning on the start date (13 days with PH+)
9-Day Ticket Any 9 days within 13 days beginning on the start date (14 days with PH+)
10-Day Ticket Any 10 days within 14 days beginning on the start date (15 days with PH+)

For example, a 6-day base ticket with a start date of November 1 is valid any 6 days from November 1 to November 9.

Unless I'm just dense. These would mean we can't visit parks from the 24th on?
Please help me understand
Thanks

Any chance you are staying on-site at a WDW resort? If so, and you buy your tickets as part of a package the 7-day ticket will be valid for your length of stay. Otherwise, for tickets bought independent of a package a 7-day ticket (base or hopper) is valid for 10 days from the start date (hopper-plus adds an extra day making that 11 days).

WDW has been changing the structure of ticket pricing for a while now. I think their intended solution steers toward adding more ticket days.

Days on ticket (start 12/13)Date of last entryCost for Hoppers
7Dec 22$705
8Dec 24$736
9Dec 25$760
10Dec 26$780

I think you are understanding it correctly. Now, whether there is a work around for your situation or not, I have no idea.

But I'm pretty sure you are correct that if you visit a park on 12/13 and you have 7-day tickets, you would have to use them up by 12/22 (or 12/23 if you have PH+).

Have you looked at the cost difference between a 7-day ticket and a 10-day ticket? A 10 day ticket would at least stretch you out for the length of your trip and probably be less than $100 per person difference for the extra 3 days.

We're DVC and booked Poly for the full duration. If I buy the tickets thru Disney (MDE) will this make them good for the full duration?

For our trip in Sept the difference between 7 & 10 ticket days is $55.
Christmas tickets are more expensive season where the difference is $75.

Days on ticket (start 9/12)Date of last entryCost for Hoppers
7Sept 21$596
8Sept 23$613
9Sept 24$631
10Sept 25$651

We're buying our hoppers thru Boardwalk Ticketing. Saves us $50 per ticket.

I believe it has to be a package to get the "length of stay" duration. You can ask. Another option is to add extra days, though 3 extra days is probably another $60+ per ticket so it would add up. Since you only have 7-day tickets planned, what are your plans for the other days? Could you re-arrange plans to get your theme park days in within the 10-day window, and do the other plans at either the beginning or end of your stay?

In your situation it may be better to buy the flexible date tickets instead of the date based ones if you truly only want 7 park days. Those would be $627.29 per adult

We were planning for a day or 2 at Universal and some in between breaks thru out the stay. Also wanted to play golf one day. I guess we can probably make our 1st day later in the week and do different things as you mentioned at the front end. Just didn't want to feel pressured to plan so precisely. Really wanted this trip to be more casual and laid back.

Now this would be something more to our liking. But I haven't seen this option on Disney site? Could you provide a direct link to this?
Thanks

Sorry, I think I may have gotten your hopes up. I checked the ticket price comparison tool with your dates to see what ticket they recommended and it defaulted to the flexible date ticket but I don't see that option on the Disney website. Maybe the tool hasn't been updated for COVID. Post your question on the ticket thread, they are all knowing!

Sadly, this is no longer true, at least not in all situations, we had purchased our tickets as part of our DVC stay and they were quite clear that the expiration time frames mentioned above applied still.

Well, since you have to make park reservations you still have to plan where you will be each day. I would suggest making Universal either the start or the end of the trip.

Thank you all for your input. I went on the Disney site and went to their buy ticket section. I saw CHAT was available so I jumped on it. Took them about 8 minutes to start the conversation. They confirmed flexibility was not optional at the moment. They also confirmed what I suspected at the start of this thread. For a 7 day ticket, they all have to be used within 10 days from the start of your first park visit. Such a crappy option. I asked if they make any exceptions for DVC members and the answer was no but that I could try calling DVC directly at 800-800-9800. I'm going to make that call in the off chance I may get lucky. Then again they may decide to change this policy down the road prior to our trip. I know wishful thinking right? Thank you all again
