CONFUSED?? DDE or MYW plan for 2?

Help! WE are going on our honeymoon in Sept.. Since it is just the 2 of us should we get the dining package or buy the AP and get DDE. WE like to go to the many table service restaurants in WDW. Does one cover alcohol?
Confused! We are planning on going back with his 15 year old next spring and summer, so planning to buy the AP.

DDE does cover alcoholic beverages while MYD does not. Anyway, to get the dining plan you must buy a package which includes room and MYW tickets and the dining plan for everyone in the room, so if you have an AP you cannot get the dining plan.

I would strongly suggest the AP and DDE. (Also, September is Value Season and there may be AP discounted room rates available.)

Our agency has been doing some comparisons of the 2 to see which saves more. THe savings is pretty similar even taking into account the $50 to buy the DDE card. Most of the time couples do better with DDE. Partially that is b/c of maybe wanting a glass of wine with dinner, partially b/c most couples want to have one, if not more, meals at a signature restaurant. That eats up your "sit down credits" quickly and then you must pay out of pocket for the additional meals since you used extra credits on those restaurants.

You can see some of the comparisons at this site. I know there will be more added soon. Just about all of the couples we looked at were better with DDE. Families do well with the MYW plan if they have kids under 10, over 10 and they tend to do better with DDE too.

Just an FYI for you --

If you spend just $250 on meals (and that includes alcohol), you will have saved enough with the DDE card to pay for it. And for a couple to spend $250 on sit-down meals, that is a very easy thing to do.

'Ohana -- for instance, is $24.99 each and if you factor in an alcoholic drink and/or a desert, you're close to $65 or $70 there.
