we're planning on going in late august . . . was wondering if we should do a late breakfast and late lunch - after relaxing in the rooms for the hottest part of the day or early dinner? just looking for opinions. i know when i'm hot i am not that hungry. but when i haven't eaten i get headaches :headache: . . . but i'm mainly concerned for my DD (4) don't want to keep her waiting til 7pm to eat.

I'm normally not a fan of lunch (prefer early breakfast or dinner) at WDW but when it comes to our August trips, we were big fans of a lunch break.

Then we'd head to our resort and either swim or relax in our room and then head out to a park again.

I'm on the DDP.

I'm planning on ordering from www.gardengrocer.com for breakfast items (cereal, pop tarts, fruit, donuts and bottled water.) Then we can hit the parks early, have an 11ish o'clock lunch, head back to the resort for pool/naps, then hit our ADRs for dinner near 5 pm.

we're late august visitors too and we found that a quick snack in the room while getting dressed (i usually have disney florist send us a basket w/fruit, we have previous days' leftovers like chips or pastry, some poptarts and cheese/crackers that we bring w/us), hit the parks at rope drop, get a bunch of attractions done w/minimal lines and then head to the latest/last breakfast seating (10:30/11am)... we'd then do a few slower stuff, use fast passes, shop, etc and head back to the resort... we'd swim/nap and then head out for the evening, dinner (grab some fastpasses before dinner if wanted/necessary) and then a few rides/attractions, fireworks and back to the resort... it's almost like having two days in each day :)

This is just about what we did last August and it worked out well for us. Besides beating the heat there is the added benefit of beating the crowds at meal time.

When we go in Aug. we have a snack in the room while getting ready for the day (cereal bars, fruit, and similar stuff). Then we have an early lunch at the parks (11:00 or so) then relax for a couple of hours at the hotel or at DTD. Then we have a dinner around 5:00 and play at the parks till closing.

Do you think we're twins, separated at birth?? That's, down the letter, what we're planning!

When we went in August last year, I found that the TS lunch was very much needed!!! It was refreshing to get into the A/C and cool down around noon time and then head back to the hotel to swim....

For our upcoming August trip I have only 2 dinners planned, 3 lunches and 2 breakfasts :thumbsup2

I personally save my credit for dinner since it has more worth $$ wise to me....Our plan is the same as most others.
Rope drop ride all big rides..lunch at the park or back at the resort around 11:30-12 then swim/rest and head back for dinner around 5:30-6 to relax in the air conditioning and take it slow and easy (with FP's in hand for after dinner) for night time fireworks. As another poster said--its like having 2 days in 1!

We were on the DP in late August and by no means needed a grocery drop. You can share those CS meals and at breakfast you can have 2 drinks with your meal. We also sometimes saved our "dessert" for a breakfast snack. If you don't mind carrying it consider bringing a water bottle. We were fine grabbing Dasani as one of our breakfast beverages and carrying that to the park, but you might prefer to just fill up a bottle in the dining room and carry that to the park. To me paying for groceries and paying for the plan just seem like overkill, but you know your family.

Hmmmmm... now I'm not sure.

I had figured on definitely getting the water, and figured I would include the other stuff as long as I was placing the order.

Knowing my kids, they'll want those snacks for afternoon ice creams and stuff.

Any other opinions?

August people here!

Getting grocieries for breakfast (we are at OKW), then early lunch (11 thru 12), followed by earlier dinner (5 thru 6).

Works well.
