What is the difference between the best rate program and an AP rate, thanks in advance for your help.

The Best Rate is the current AP rate..You can only get the Best Rate if you ae an AP holder. As of now, there aren't any other AP rates out, we are all waiting to see if Disney has stopped them & will use only the Best Rate Programs System. I personally do not see that happening... so to answer your question... they are the same ....

If you book with the Best Rate, you must book 120 days out (if less than that, you will not get AP rate). There is a one night non-refundable deposit due at booking & you must book online. You must also have your AP or voucher in-hand to do it. If the call in rates start up, they had a one night deposit due in 14 days & was refundable up to 6 days prior to arrival.

Do we know whether or not-if you already have the best rate booked and a better AP rate comes out, will they automatically reduce your rate?

Accoring to the CM that I talked to today we should automatically get the lower AP rates if you are signed up under Best Rate program. If they come out with AP rates this will be the first time under Best Rate, so I guess it will be a wait and see (if it actually happens) type of thing.

So what would the point of booking best rate be if they don't do what they originally claimed ie. "passholders can rest easy knowing they have received our best room rate offered to the general public* at that time for the room and nights booked. And, if we subsequently reduce our room rate to the general public for the same room and nights you booked online under this Program, we will automatically reduce your room rate to match that lower rate."?

That is exactly what I thought, especially with the room deposit and cancel/change policy, but it seems many people are getting many different answers, the email I got seems to differ from what CM's have been telling people, so exactly who do we believe? I for the life of me can not figure out why Disney cannot convey to their employees exactly what the policy is on any new program they implement. I have said for a long time that their website is a joke and the CM's are very poorly informed............You'd think they were running a "Mickey Mouse" operation up their instead of a Multi Billion dollar business!
