I know there is a new night safari and some night light show coming to AK. I think I believe it is supposed to be early summer? I am checking AK hours and it says for 8/26 that AK hours are 9-5. How is that possible if there is going to be night events? When is this supposed to be finished and up and running? Thanks for any info. Making my adr's and want a later Yak and Yedi but they are always only til around 4pm.

They will extend the hours when they need to. No firm dates have been announced.

Instead of making an ADR for Yak and Yeti, just join the Landry's Select Club. That way you can just walk in when it's convenient and get priority seating (even ahead of those with ADRs.) Problem solved.

They won't extend AKs hours until they formally announce the opening dates for the new attractions. As with all park hours, they can continue to tweak them right up to, and including, any given date.

Hours will be extended when they announce the opening date. All of the new night time activities will debut this spring.

OK, thanks for the info. We are thinking of maybe trying the new restaurant that is going to open in AK also. I will keep my eyes open.

It appears that they are slowly adding extended hours through the summer months. I noticed awhile back that AK was open until 8:00 in Jan, but only until 5:00 in June (when we will be going) which made no sense to me so I asked about it on here as well. Responses were similar to the ones you have received, so I was checking periodically to see if the hours have been extended and low and behold AK will now be open until 8:00 during the time we are there. So just keep checking the hours. I'm guessing that this time may even be extended to 9:00 or 10:00 since daylight lasts longer in the summer.

Yeah, I can almost guarantee that AK will never close at 5:00 ever again after around April of this year. (Except for special events of course)

Thanks for posting this! I knew park hours would extend as we got closer, especially with the eventual announcement of RoL. We are going in May and the AK closing time just changed from 5p to 6/6:30p recently. I wasn't even looking at current dates until you posted this and saw AK is open until 8p today. Cool!!

It just stinks when your trying to plan your dining reservations and can't get one after 4 pm when you know the park will be open later.. Im in the same situation..my ADR date is coming soon ..We want to get an ADR for Yak&Yeti but on 8/28 .. I guess we just have to hope something is available once the new hours are released ..

If you join the Landry's Select Club, you get priority seating without an ADR.

Thank you .. I'll have to do some research on this .. I have never heard of Landry's Select club until very recently... so I'm not sure how you join but I'm gonna try!! Thanks for the solution to my problem!

You can sign up online and they'll mail you a card. It costs $25, but you get a $25 dollar credit on your account, and you'll also get a $25 credit every year to use during the month of your birthday. When you get to the restaurant, you'll show them your card and you will get the next available table (behind other members who might be waiting, but ahead of people with ADRs.)

We got the Landry's card before our last trip because we planned to go to Yak n Yeti, Rainforest, and Trex. My mom's birthday is July, mine's May, we went in June so when we signed up we put June as our birthday month so we could use the birthday credit while we were there. The server at Landry's who sold my mom the card actually told her to this. They don't care when your real birthday is, you basically get a $25 credit one month of the year.

AK shows a closing of 8:00 pm during each night of our trip in June. Our dates are June 4-16.
